About Mrs. Piglet

‘Tis the season to get engaged! And Sunnie has a beautiful ring on her hand to prove it. As you’ve probably seen from past brides and bees (including yours truly), Filene’s Basement ROTB is all the rage. Sunnie and I are heading to Filene’s this Friday to try our luck at finding her dress. I’m not the aggressive type, so thankfully, we’re going after the morning stampede.

Check out the prep tips from the ever-so-lovely, Miss Latte, and please learn from my experience and resist the temptation to pig out on multiple dresses. Yesterday was my pathetic attempt to sway Sunnie into wearing one of them. Mission failed, but we did get some cute pictures of her trying on her first wedding dress! Congrats girlfriend!

I’m going too. Kind of sad because I have no one to go with since I am a DC transplant, and all my friends are busy law students. nice to know that there will be some bees there. What time is everyone going?

@ lobstergirl: I know how you feel, when I first went wedding gown shopping I went alone and it was miserable,. I only have one person going with me Friday, we are leaving around 930 ( I live close to BWI)…..If you are going around the same time you are welcome to meet up with us! It would be fun to meet some other bees!

I’m going too! but after the morning rush (which seems to be the trend here!) If we all come up to you “Are you Miss Piglet?” don’t get freaked out! Have fun girls! I know I will.

I’m going with my second cousin and future cousin-in-law, both also recently engaged - we’re just hoping we have enough dress snatchers and helpers to effectively fight the crowds! (Yeah. We’re hoping to be there when the doors open. :-D)

I’ll be going to the one in DC Mazzea Gallery since all my friends are busy for this one.

I did the running of the Brides this past August at Mazzea Gallery. We collected over 80 dresses!! Make sure you have a team. Each person plays a significant roll in grabbing and exchanging dresses.
Tip 1: Grab dresses around the body ( kinda like you are tackling the rack), wrap your around as many dresses and lift up. They come off the hanger a lot easier this way. My team and I cleaned off several racks. Oh.. make sure you have a sorter and someone to exchange dresses. I had a great time and everyone said they would do it again!

Good Luck!
