Looking Past the Big Day

April 2nd, 2009 @ 5:58 pm by Mrs. Cheese

I play this little game when I get overwhelmed with wedding details called, “I can’t wait until…” I think about all of the things that will come after our wedding, from the mundane like health insurance for my guy (no more hearing him complain about phantom aches and pains) to the rock-our-world things like becoming parents.

And the best part is that, a la Operation Perspective, every time I think about my photographer, I end up in playing the game. Why? Because she specializes in family and maternity photography, and she’s AWESOME.

I’m fairly certain that the third picture is the one that led me to book our e-pic session with her, because, sheesh, what an astoundingly beautiful picture. To top it off, she’s sweet as can be, and incredibly communicative.

If you’re in the Knoxville area and interested in family or maternity photography (or heck, in the TN/ GA/ KY area, since she is totally worth the drive), contact her. You won’t regret it.

(Note: I get nothing from recommending her to you, other than feeling good about recommending a great talent to a few of my close internet friends.)

Do you think ahead to the blissful days post-wedding? Are you in love with your photographer? :)

I play that game too, but as the wedding gets closer (I’m a May bride too), it’s harder to think past the wedding! I’m really excited for the post-wedding though!

oooh goll those pictures are so pretty! I love them especially the third one down. I totally look ahead. I’m so excited to have little ones even though we’re waiting a couple years before it happens.

I’m also in love with my photographer. (http://raquelallenphotography.com/). She’s absolutely amazing!

Now that I think about it, I haven’t really thought of AFTER the wedding. I’m curious to see how much things will change since we live together, and I look forward to having his last name. AND I look forward to the honeymoon! That’s right after! But that’s all the after really. We don’t mention babies too much cause we’re not going to try till 5 years after we’re married. We want to enjoy (and get sick) of each other first.

Well, I WAS in love with my photographer until I saw yours! I keed, I keed… I still love mine. Yours is amazing, though! Like you, whenever I’m stressed out about wedding planning, I think about the big picture. And I can’t WAIT to have kids!

I’m totally on the same page with you about health insurance for the mister; I’m going to my HR office Monday to get it for him.

Before I got engaged I fell in love with a photographer, but later discovered he was WAY out of my price range! But I still love his stuff: http://www.abryanphoto.com.

But THEN! I found my photographer and I LOVE her. I think she is perfect for us! Her stuff is amazing: http://www.audreysnowphotography.com. I am definately in love with my photographer. :)

yes, very much. in fact, I’ve learned that in the year and half of engagement and wedding planning that life isn’t always as linear as media and wedding blogs would like you to believe.

i became pregnant during our planning and am now see that life just happens during wedding planning and that ultimately this idea about weddings being the biggest days of our lives is not really the case, its just icing on the cake of what really is much more important, the actual relationship, not this “event”.

i am looking forward to life as it is now, the pre, the during and the after.

I am looking forward to having everything done, enjoying a fun day, and then coming back home and having my life back and just enjoying being married without a monumental task in front of me!

Yessssss i love my photographer! She does this really great thing for families with terminal babies so they can have a plethora of pictures before their baby dies. I can’t remember what it’s called but the photos are so touching.

im slightly afraid of post -wedding blues, so i’ve made it a point to keep making plans for after the wedding and honeymoon- concerts, small trips, picking up new hobbies.

at first, it seemed that putting all this time and money into a wedding when we’ve been together for 6 years was silly. but now that its coming to an end, ive realized i really like making a big deal out stuff that could be overlooked or treated as ordinary- why NOT have handmade invitations made for my next birthday dinner? or have professional photos taken of me and my man JUST BECAUSE?!?! (finances permitting lol). its so easy to settle into the routine and stress of day-to-day life, so im really hoping to spice life up a bit post-wedding. hey, why not?!?

ps. i live in GA and a roadtrip to Knoxville for photos as cute as those sounds awesome! just gotta get prego first :)

My photographer promised as a free newborn session (her specialty) when I booked. I’m really excited to redeem it someday!

I’ve recently started a game where instead of worrying about wedding colors I start playing with nursery colors. And blankets and animals and clothes….it totally relaxes me to focus on something past the wedding! Plus I already figured out we’re going to either have a jungle theme or a dinosaur theme because either one will have a light green wall. :-)
