And I Did It Again!!

April 3rd, 2009 @ 11:50 am by Mrs. Joey

So, I selected my first bridal hair piece. Then I selected my second. And now I hope I’ve selected my last one. I loved the first one, but wasn’t sure how I’d actually wear it. For some reason I couldn’t love it like I should’ve. The second one I also loved, and even had boutonnières made to match. I paid for and received it, and was happy. Then, one fateful day I looked at it again and realized it was just not right for a Joey wedding. It was lovely, but it was beachy. I put it away and thought I’d feel differently, but I didn’t. So I surfed Etsy again until I found a seller with really lovely but interesting recycled pieces. I sent Jessica at Beetle and Bloom a note asking her if she’d be interested in making a custom piece. I didn’t know what I was looking for, but I knew what I didn’t want. I sent Jessica pictures of my dress, shoes, and pictures of the hair pieces I’d selected and passed on. She was great! She went to work, and a few days later came up with these lovely numbers…

Option 1 is smaller but is more in line with the style of my dress. The flower is paler than the yellows we are wearing, but it is super cute.

And I Did It Again!! : wedding hair jewelry Option1

And I Did It Again!! : wedding hair jewelry Option101

And I Did It Again!! : wedding hair jewelry Option102

Option 2 is larger, and the yellow flower is bolder.

And I Did It Again!! : wedding hair jewelry Option2

And I Did It Again!! : wedding hair jewelry Option201

And I Did It Again!! : wedding hair jewelry Option202

My gut is telling me to see if I can get option 1 with the yellow flower of option 2. I like option 2, but I think it looks like the white flower I bought and decided against. What will Jessica come up with? Only time will tell. But I do like shot 1 of option 2! Maybe I should opt for option 2, with a little more white texture to make it look less like what I had before?

Katie of my panel says option 2 hands down—just as it is.

Which flower would you choose?

Both are gorgeous, but I am particularly drawn to Option #1. With your dark hair though, the bold pop of yellow would be gorgeous! Sorry, I’m no help! :)

I LUUUUUUUUV the bold yellow of option 2. It makes me want to rethink my white gardenia hair piece…ooh la la! Thanks for the etsy reference. I am going to go look her up pronto!

I hear ya with the indecision on hair pieces. I’ve loved hair flowers for months, have ordered two different types (on big, one small), and I’m still not sure if it’s right for me.

Have now gone the other way and ordered a 1920s brooch fixed on a comb. I hope that works, although at this rate I might not use any of them!

I like Option 2 the best– very pretty and a little more classic. Option 1 seems a little… I can’t figure out the word, but not as structured. So I picked Option 2, but make it less like the previous beachy option.

Question for you– where did you get the previous beachy option? I’d love to wear something like that in my hair for my rehearsal dinner. And it would be perfect because my rehearsal dinner is on the beach!

@BeachBrideT: Check out my last hair piece post for details on the other Jessica who made my beachy piece. Also, I’m selling mine at a discount.

i like option two, both because of the bolder flower AND because i think the white flower is crisper and bolder. they’re both beautiful, but i’d go with #2!

I’m in the minority right now, but I like the first option with the yellow from the second one. Can’t wait to see what you end up deciding!
