Envisioning the Vision

April 6th, 2009 @ 5:01 pm by Mrs. Powder Puff

I heart wedding blogs. One of the first that I discovered after our engagement almost a year ago (eek!) was Snippet and Ink. The inspiration boards are an amazing source of creativity, and this one caught my eye as the perfect look for the mister’s and my wedding.

Envisioning the Vision : wedding color schemes 277 Vintage-y? Check. Lovely? Check. Garden pastels? Check. Perfection? Check!

One of the hardest things about planning this wedding has been being able to visualize the big picture. I’ve been pounding out the details of this party for a long time, and it’s difficult for me to see how it’s all going to come together. Looking at this board from time to time has really helped in that, but who knows what the reality of our wedding is going to be!

I’m really looking forward to the wedding day if for no other reason than to see how this shindig is going to look!

Do you have a hard time seeing the big picture when you’re bogged down in wedding details?

Mr. Taffy was doing some “manly” wedding research (tuxes and that sort of thing) this past weekend, and called me over to show me snippet and ink, thought I would like it because of all the wedding pictures… then I showed him my bookmarks of all the wedding blogs, including that glorious one! It was cute that he was excited about it.

Making inspiration boards has been SUPER important in shaping our vision of our wedding day. The nice thing is that some ideas have come and gone, but others have stayed and I know that they are intrinsically important to us.

It has been hard trying to picture how EXACTLY it will all come together! It’s like I’ve decoupaged it all together in my mind & am hoping the “real” thing is as fabulous as it is in my head…haha! :)

I think it’s hard to see the big picture for our own weddings because we know how much heart and time and angst and joy we’ve put into each tiny detail. I find myself wondering what it would have been like to attend my wedding as a guest. If I do say so myself, I think I would have loved it! I was recently hearing about a super fancy outlandish wedding a friend went to and I thought I would definitely want to attend that event, but with so much going on and so many little events within the reception I wouldn’t have been able to enjoy it as the bride because I would be too worried about the execution! Your inspiration pic is so pretty and romantic!

I’m always searching for inspiration! But I always take it and twist it…so my inspiration tags are all these different colors and FI has a hard time envisioning what I’m going for! I always say “Something like that but in *yellow* baby!”

Yes! I too wish I could just know that the wedding would all come together and look like how I envision it. I would worry a lot less!!

I too have a problem with the big picture when I get blogged down with the details. That is why I had to create my own inspiration board to remind be of the big picture :)

Yes….. I think its hard to see the full design until it has all been put together in the room. I try to envision all the little details and then I just come up with more items.
