Mrs. Glitter's Picture
Mrs. Glitter, Los Angeles Age and Occupation: 27, Research Consultant/Writer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Accounting Engagement Date: May 6, 2007 Wedding Date: June, 2009 Venue: Millenium Biltmore Hotel About Me: I was born and raised in West Los Angeles, California. I spent eight years in the Northeast working and completing my education. Having split time between two sides of the country has given me a true appreciation for both coasts. It has also provided an overabundance of cross country drives, flights and long distance relationship fun/misery! I love my family, my doggy Emma, fabulous wine, Anthropologie, politics, reading, being outdoors, exploring new cities, and good movies! My fiance and I are complete opposites, but somehow we have managed to fall completely and hopelessly in love.
About Mrs. Glitter

Now that I’ve successfully teased all of you with our e-pics, I guess it’s only fitting that I reveal the goods!

Back in February, I got an email from my wedding hair and makeup artist, Susie Chhuor, about participating in an engagement shoot with Herman Au, an amazingly talented Los Angeles photographer. She introduced us and even offered to do my hair and makeup for the shoot. Thanks, Susie!

Last weekend, Mr. G and I strolled around the streets of Pasadena, California with Herman Au of Herman Au Photography.

We started in a back alley walking amongst trash bins.

Then we walked around Old Town Pasadena and found a plethora of backdrops.

We changed clothes, and drove to a nearby bridge in a picturesque tree-lined neighborhood.

And finally, our favorite shot of the day…

So what do you think? Herman’s style is cutting edge and modern. I did my best to keep up. I tend to smile big and toothy. I don’t have ANY serious photos of myself. At first, I kept giggling like a little schoolgirl. But ultimately it was fun Zoolander-ing it all day.

Herman was a gem to work with. He was kind, professional, comfortable, helpful, and fun! If we didn’t already have a wedding photographer reserved, I would have booked Herman in a second! Please contact him for prices and availability.

My advice about engagement shoots is to be bold, have fun with it, and to move around a lot. Any nervousness will just melt away.

In case you’re wondering, my yellow and black dress is from Anthropologie. It was a gift from Mr. G!

Did you have an engagement shoot? If so, did you go with traditional poses or did you go for something more edgy?

Our eshoot will most likely be in mid October at the peak of Fall in our area. I figure it will be a nice contrast to our summer pictures. =D

wow, those are so great. We decided not to do engagement photos as it wasn’t included with our package…. shots like yours always make me wish we had opted for the photos.

@HumarockBride: Anthropologie! I’d live there if they let me. :) I think it was about $38? Check out their website for more details.

I love your pictures, you look so at ease! The coloring of the shots is so unexpected, too.

And Mr. G has good taste. That dress looks wonderful on you!
