About Mrs. Caramel

Not the Finest Moment

April 7th, 2009 @ 4:18 pm by Mrs. Caramel

Weddingbee, this is how much I love you. I was going through all of my digital photos from my photographer, and I found some… not so nice pictures. Of course, I love candids, but some of these are weird and quirky… and not so pretty! But I will share them with you as a reminder, especially for you bride-to-bes, that the camera is ALWAYS watching every gross move you do. :)

First off, here we are relaxing on the formal set. Our shoes are kicked off, there are petals everywhere… we’re just relaxing in our flip flops—I love it!

m189006

Oopsie! My flip flop is showing!

m18900601

Here we are after the tossing of the petals, which we were only allowed to do if…

m189007

… we promised to pick them all up afterward! I love this action/behind the scenes shot.

m18900701

I’m not sure what’s going on here…

m18900702

Reception time! I’m not sure who was responsible for the cake toppers, but obviously they didn’t get that they were supposed to be holding hands! I think they were on the wrong side for most of the night, too. They said that Mr. Caramel’s topper kept falling over and that mine stood perfectly still all throughout the night!

m18900602

Ok, now it’s time for the ugly faces!

m18900603

Whatever it was, it must have been really funny!

m18900604

I think I was not aware that there was some dirty dancing going on!

z189011

“Dance like it hurts a little”—these are my bridesmaids

z18901101

Woah whoa WHOA!! What is going on here??

z189007

z18901102

I’ll end with that picture. :)

Did any of you go through your pictures and find some surprising events?

LOL! I LOVE the picture of you all picking up the flowers :) Classic, it was all about the picture moment… I assume you wanted the flower toss picture and that is why you threw them ;-)

I love candids, even if they may not always be the most glamorous photos in the world. They just show such a different perspective of whatever they’ve captured. Thanks for sharing!

Great pictures - and I love the cake topper! That’s so funny that they’re not holding hands. Who made those for you, Mrs. Caramel?

These types of photos were some of the best that we collected! These photos are reminders that you should really promote getting your friends involved to take photos at all your events. Friends and family get reat candids from everything not just the wedding and reception.

We used http://www.seeyouthen.com but I’ve seen people using photosharing services and blank CD’s for this also.

i love “ugly” photos.

they end up being the photos you take a look at after so and so years, and say “Dang! That was some fun!”

I’m planning on making an album exclusively of the “ugly” photos we will have!

Thanks for letting me know I’m not totally insane for doing that!

We had a mini studio for guests to take pics (they could take pretty ones or incororate the fun props we brought in). One of my hubby’s aunts (by marriage) thought it would be oh so funny to take a couple shot with of his uncles that wasn’t her husband. She was actually quoted as saying she wanted to be scandalous and cause a stir when the pictures came back. Unfortuantely, I can’t keep his huge family straight and didn’t even notice the different pairing. So weird.

Thanks everyone! I’m glad you appreciate the un-formal-ness to these!

The personalized cake toppers are from here:
http://www.claymyfigure.com/

They did a pretty good job, but I think they are about $100-150? We decided to splurge on that because we’ll keep them forever!

Candids are the best!
Miss Caramel, where did you purchase your rose petals? From florist or online?

@pnk — our venue only allowed fake petals, so I got them online! The bags were really cheap, about $5 per bag! There are a lot of sites for this, such as:

http://www.wpetals.com/detail.aspx?ID=30

They can send you free samples so you can match the colors. Our petals almost matched perfectly with the bridesmaids’ dresses!

The dresses were Maggie London and I got them from Nordstroms! I forgot the color name, but here’s the link:

They’re $138 each.
