About Mrs. Lemonade

Yesterday marked a momentous occasion – we procured the marriage license! Mr. L picked me up on my lunch break and we headed over to the Travis Co. clerk’s office. I’ve noticed that some of y’all have county offices housed in beautiful historic buildings. The Travis Co. office? Not so much. It’s in an ugly strip mall next to a furniture store with a minuscule parking lot. No matter, 20 minutes and $71 in cash later we walked out with our official license. It’s good for 30 days (with a 3 day waiting period) so we are good to go.

One Step Closer to Making It Legal! : wedding license Marriag04

I’d like to note that I missed out on the Louboutin sale on Gilt Groupe for this. Such a sacrifice, I tell ya. I guess that’s what marriage is all about.

Have you obtained the all-important marriage license yet? How was your experience?

Is that a super swirly script on your license? It’s beautiful! :-)

The font is the first thing I noticed, too. Our county offices were also not very fancy, and our license isn’t nearly as fancy as yours, either!

Congratulations! The Louboutin sale had some gorgeous shoes, but they were all still $300+, if it makes you feel any better.

That is one nice license! New Jersey’s licenses are no where near that elegant.

Wow, sacrificing the Gilt Groupe sale… that’s so sweet of you :) I didn’t order any but there were definitely lots of beautiful shoes to choose from! Congrats on getting your marriage license!

Oh yes, we made not one, but two trips to the TCCO in one day! Note to Texas brides, if you take a marriage prep class that’s at least 8 hours (ie your Cana classes) they knock $60 off the license! I love that you guys took photos too!

Yeah, the Loub sale wasn’t so hot. If you’re a normal sized foot person there wasn’t a lot of choice. And no real bargain basement deals.

I won’t be getting my license until the end of May. I hope it is as pretty as yours.
