I love useful/thoughtful favors as much as I despise little pieces of crap that end up in the landfill right after a wedding. This idea spawned from my panic after hearing about yet another bad one in the works.
You can Download This Calendar for April 2009 through December 2010. I made a sample favor here by adding the circle design from MOH-Ho’s invites on her wedding date.
Below are instructions to make the lil’ calendar:
1. Cut an 8″ long piece of wire (most wires would work, I used 26 ga. wire which was really thin):
2. Bend at 2 1/4″ and 5 1/4″ like this:
3. Pull wire through the springs of two mini 1″ clothespins:
4. Bend, twist, and bend some mo’ to make hanger shape:
5. Download Calendar and print (I recommend printing on linen paper for the texture. If you’re making them in bulk, I suggest using recycled linen paper like this one)
6. Cut or tear out each month, they need not be exactly the same size (I like to score then tear to give me torn edges that don’t get too crazy)
7. I’ve included little tags for the hanger, which you can add as desired (see first or last pic). Of course, you can also make your own.
8. Clip ’em suckas with the clothespins and you’ve got yourself a wee calendar!
It costs less than a shiny quarter and takes less than 5 minutes to make, so I made MOH-Ho a countdown calendar!

This is SO cute! I think I might make some for shower favors! Who wouldn’t want a cute little calendar to hang in their office or on their fridge?

Where do you get linen paper? These are adorable! Can you print these in regular printers?
@Rachel: there is a link in the post for recycled linen paper. linen paper comes in an array of types/colors, and you can find them at office supply stores or craft stores.
I tried downloading the file to my computer but for some reason the text document isn’t loading correctly. Any ideas?
Also what font did you use?

i created a font my own handwriting, which was used in this calendar.

@stephanie: i’m sorry stephanie but i think i’m a bit confused. what do you mean by text version? are you talking about the calendar (which is what you commented on) or the invitation suite? the calendar was done in excel. the text part of the invite suite was done in word. i did not keep the original file since i uploaded it.
I’m looking for the calendar. I want to use it as my save the date, but want to add our names to the month that we are getting married. Anyway you could email me the excel file? stephlgolden@aol.com

@stephanie: i’m sorry, but as i commented previously, i no longer have the file since i uploaded the project. it can certainly be recreated in excel though, this way you can personalize your own font and such as well. good luck!
