The Tea Party: Chocolatey Goodness

Mr. GT thinks it’s funny that Chinese people eat fruit as dessert, but there’d be noooo funny business if I ever left my family hanging at the end of a meal without it. Since fruit was a must have anyway, we upgraded to a chocolate fountain. 8 dipping items included 5 different fruits, plus pretzels, marshmallows, and Rice Krispies treats. Nommm.

There was a line for the fountain the whole time, and the location made it so the line was on part of the big dance floor. This way, folks in line were not kept away from anything that was going on, and most of them boogied while in line.

We got tons of thumbs up from our guests, but what we didn’t get was any dippers for ourselves! Neither Mr. GT nor I ever made it to the chocolate fountain that night (and while my face had its share, I actually didn’t get to eat any cake either), but it was worthwhile just seeing everyone enjoy it so much.

And I wish you could see these kids when they reminisce over that tower of flowing chocolate!

My stepmom wants us to have a chocolate fountain and I was a little skeptical! Thanks for this, now I know it’ll get rave reviews!

I didn’t ever consider a chocolate fountain, but more and more I’ve realized we aren’t cake people. Now the future mister has mentioned a chocolate fountain five or six times, so maybe that’s what we’ll do instead…

I love, love, love chocolate fountains, I plan on having one at our hometown reception and I can’t wait. I just hope it doesn’t turn into a HUGE mess. I have nightmares about everyone running around with big chocolate stains down the front of their nice clothes.

I’ve seen choco. fountains but for me, absolutely never going to happen! This is because I’ve WORKED with caterers who have set up fountains for their guests… WORST part of the clean-up EVER. I would never wish the chocolate fountain clean up on anyone, I couldn’t bring myself to do it lol.

It can be yummy though….

Neat spinoff of the fruits! I think I’m just going to do oranges cut up on the tables like at Chinese Weddings. I think it’ll be so funny and we’re doing ice cream station with the cake instead!

Yummy! I’ve been to a wedding with one, and it was a big hit! But at one point, it stopped flowing and people freaked out! Haha.

Mmmm that looks SO good! I think I’d be too nervous to go near it wearing a white dress though (I have a pretty bad track record when it comes to splling things on myself!)

I would have stuck my head in that fountain and left the fruit for the Chinese people! I’m classy like that.

They look amazing! But there was a party at a hotel where I used to work with a chocolate fountain that got clogged and shot chocolate everywhere. It was seriously wall-to-wall chocolate splatters. I was amazed by the range. The chocolate fountain people paid for all the cleanup to the meeting room, but lots of guests’ clothes WERE ruined. I was glad it wasn’t a wedding, a chocolate-covered dress would have been so sad.

we’re doing this and even though it got mixed responses on a poll on the boards, I’m really excited about it!

Fi and I both don’t like cake and we’re only serving the chocolate fountain for dessert (along with our candy buffet.)
