I’m doing a boudoir session with our photographer Lindsi, and making Mr. Lab a “little black book” with the images. And because I’ll be the guinea pig for Lindsi’s first boudoir session, I’m getting an awesome rate!
If you’ve never heard of boudoir photography before, think of it as a risque version of a bridal portrait session. It’s kind of like bridal pin-up. Depending on the bride’s level of exhibition, these photos can range from fully-clothed bridal lingerie, to nothing at all. I’m going with a classy middle ground. 
It’s time for inspiration photos!
First up is traditional bridal boudoir. I’m definitely getting one set of lingerie all in white. Victoria’s Secret is going to love me in a few months. And I may have to get a “prop” veil for the occasion as well. Maybe I can borrow one from one of my married friends? *cough*Amanda*cough*Leslie* 
I’ll have to add some red lipstick to up the ante on the white lingerie.
Sexy/mysterious boudoir:
I love this photo! It’s probably too elaborate of an outfit for me to get my hands on, but I love it, nonetheless!
How cool would it be if I bought a wig and became a different person for a few of the photos? Might as well run with the “fantasy” of boudoir while I’m at it!
Theme boudoir. I absolutely love the sports jersey photos. Mr. Lab will love that as well. I already have a UGA jersey and socks like this:

I may have to channel my inner Jessica Simpson for this one. I have an apron that says “Domestic Diva” on the front. I’ll definitely be playing with Mr. Lab’s traditional side by doing a “housewife” photo.
We’re planning on holding the session towards the end of summer when I’ll be in better shape and have more free time. I’m scouting out hotels that have exceptional decor as the background for our shoot and I’ve already been scouring lingerie sites for ideas on my outfits. I’ll keep everyone updated as the plans come together and of course, when I get the photos!
What outfits would you wear for your boudoir shoot?
I had sooo much fun at my shoot two weeks ago! I just received two teasers, and will hopefully get the rest soon. Carmen Electra’s (don’t laugh!) Fit to Strip (disc 2 in her series) dvd really got me in shape for the shoot. I was thrilled with how toned I was, and am going to keep up with the dvd until the wedding! I cannot recommend it enough. Have fun!!! 
I did it last week for my Fiance. He’s a lawyer and I have a lot of my our wedding stuff together so I wore a button down shirt of his with his wedding day tie and my wedding day shoes. I think he’ll love it. It’s so much fun you’ll love it. It’s makes you feel really sexy.
Also GO UGA! 
i loved doing mine. I wore essentially 3 different outfits aside from one that i looked nude in.
2 lingere type outfits and one that was low riding jeans and a red bustier. I think that one was my fav.
I haven’t fully decided on a boudoir shoot or not - I’m thinking it might be a good 1st anniversary gift. I wonder if you can rent the corsets and other items like that…though, they could be fun to keep around 
If you’re really set on the corset type thing (the photo you thought was too elaborate). I have a suggestion. I got a WHOLE lot of corsets for under $15 (including shipping) (for costuming purposes) from ebay. The sellers I worked with were xfei2008, luvsecretlingerie, sexy_lingerie_outlet. The latter took forever to ship but the quality was slightly better than the other 2. They’re not “excellent” corsets but at potentially $5 a pop they photograph very nicely. Hope that helps!
I did a few outfits -
The sports jersey outfit - I got a baseball (my FI’s favorite sport) jersey from our alma mater and wore it with matching boyshorts, and also wore my garter with it (b/c it is themed to our alma mater as well)
The bride outfit - I got a corset from Victoria’s Secret in ivory, it was so pretty!
The corset outfit - I got a pink corset from Frederick’s, and wore it with boyshorts, thigh-highs and pink heels
The business outfit - I did an outfit of black & white pinstripe lingerie (which I got super cheap at H&M, a great place to check out!), a black tie, and black heels
And finally, an outfit of just a more traditional black lace bra & panty set from Macy’s.
I’d definitely recommend branching out from just what they have at places like Frederick’s - my photog commented that I had a lot of clothes she hadn’t seen before, she said she sees a ton of the same things!

I took a few corsets and some cute undies along. They put me in a button down white shirt and tied it up and it looked great.
As for the hat and corset, there is a new etsy seller that makes great bustles and hats that are fun and sexy and a little mulan rouge. Her etsy shop has a few things, but you can see a lot of her work on her myspace page. She could probably custom make something for you.

I tried to stay more true to myself in my b-pics. Wore a cute bra and panties that I like to save for special occasions, a white tank and cute underwear, a STL Cardinals jersey and one of his dress shirts and ties. It was a ton of fun. Just be yourself!
I love that boudoir is coming to the forefront! I have a slight obsession with all things pinup, so it makes me super-happy. I worked with a photographer (http://www.mergeweddings.com/?s=boudoir) for a while (and still do part-time) who does a ton of pinup (and was featured in Boston Magazine not too long ago! Because of the work I did for her, I have my outfits all picked out
My BF was in a mountain rescue unit when he was in college, so I’d wear his sweatshirt (with the company shield) on it and some blue and white boyshorts (his team colors to claim his gear were blue and white). He also owns a landscaping company, so I was thinking of a strategically-placed rake! haha I’d also have a very pinup-oriented outfit, mostly for me, a bridal outfit (maybe), and an outfit in black.

@WorstTwinEver15: Trust me, I’ll be staying true to myself since I’m already a borderline exhibitionist and attention whore! lol I love dressing up and feeling sexy. I even used to model part time and all my glamour shoots were always the best ones!

@Leah: Cute ways to tie in your personalities! I’m slightly obsessed with boudoir and pinup as well. I keep saying one day I’ll have a pinup/old Hollywood glam-type powder room when I have my big fat dream house!
From someone on the inside of the industry it is interesting to see this new style of photography growing up. It is the one time I think photoshop can make the image.
I also did a session like this. LOVED IT! So much fun and so inpiring. I highly recommend Endless Boudoir Photography down here in chicago. I had a wedding night photo book made up of me in my bridal lingerie and some other “naughty lingerie”. My fiancée loved it!
I can’t wait to do this! I’m planning on doing this as a gift….perhaps many sessions at the gym are in order first!
