Someone Stop Me…

April 25th, 2009 @ 3:00 pm by Mrs. Beagle

Really, I mean it. I need to stop ordering invitation samples.

Someone Stop Me... : wedding invitations stationery Img 196
I’m not sure what’s worse: the fact that this picture does not show all of them in my possession or that the one that I *think* we have chosen is not shown (since we haven’t ordered or sent them out yet… pics of the final product will have to wait :) ). The problem I struggle with is that every time I think I find *the* invitation that will be ours, I find something I like a little more. Such is the problem with buying invitations online… too many sellers, too many options!

I think I decided to buy our invitations online shortly after I realized that making them all by hand would be a feat far out of my league. However, even though they will not be completely DIYed, I plan on personalizing them some after we order them and before they get mailed.

What’s the plan for your invites? Are you taking advantage of all the options the web has to offer?

Yup! I searched and searched but couldn’t find the perfect invite — so I assembled a series of inspiration pictures, and we’ll be working with an Etsy seller to design our custom invites!

I have a rookie question - how does one go about ordering invitation samples (from online retailers)? Are they usually free, or is there a small fee?

@Bean: agh, usually there is a small fee. I’m a little embarrassed by the fact that kept ordering them… but I guess it’s too late now.

Aw, don’t be embarrassed! You will have the best invites :) Any tips on the best online vendors for invitations?

@Bean: We are going with some from white aisle, but Wedding Paper Divas has a huge selection and they carry letterpress, thermographic, and digital print. I was also very smitten with Betsy White.

We were pleased with our invitations from Costco (einvite.com). If I had it to do over again, I’d probably order from a company where I could get invitations and website to match. Nonetheless, we’ve gotten good responses to our invitations.

I designed ours myself. Was extremely easy and am planning on using CatPrint or Overnight Prints (online printers) to have them printed. Not much DIY needed other than the design of them themselves and stuffing envelopes!

I keep wishing I could just get a rack of invite samples to go through - maybe I should just offer to pay shipping for some of the Bee’s sample stacks after they’ve picked theirs! :)

I will most likely order them online. But first I need to hop on the STD train and get those taken care of! If only I could get Mama Lab to send me the address book!!!
