About Mrs. Bruschetta

Hanky Panty

April 27th, 2009 @ 12:52 pm by Mrs. Bruschetta

FSIL Bruschetta’s bridal shower was last weekend, and along with the routine games, her bridesmaids had a cute surprise activity for the bride-to-be.

The girls had selected special gifts — loungewear, sleepwear or underwear — and upon unwrapping each, FSIL Bruschetta had to guess who had purchased it. Incorrect answers meant she had to model the lingerie (but with family in attendance, everyone agreed to keep it modest!). By the end of the game, FSIL Bruschetta had several negligee over her clothes, and a pair of frilly pink panties on her head — and the room was full of giggles and camera flashes.

Flirty new underthings, and an inventive “guess who?” game? I loved this idea! (And a little good-natured embarrassment for the bride-to-be also added to the fun.)

I’ve never played a game like that, but I bet it would be so fun!

I like the one where you cant say any of the key words (like bride, wedding, groom, etc). At the beginning of the party everyone is given a clothes pin (usually decorated with a tiny veil or bowtie if it’s a coed party). Anyway, as you’re talking to people, if you catch them saying a keyword in conversation, you get to take their clothes pin! At the end of the party whoever has the most gets a door prize. I LOVE that game!

We do this all the time for bachelorette parties - everyone has to bring a pair of panties and the bride to be has to guess who got them for her!
We did this for my sister-in-law last year - but she isn’t the type that would enjoy opening panties in front of everyone - so we got her fun socks, which she loved!

@purpleHaze79: Hey thanks! :-) I’m always drawn first to creatively-titled blog posts, and so in case anyone out there’s like me, I figure a funny header will grab them!

@MightySapphire: We also did something similar to this, with leis and the word “Hawaii” — the couple’s honeymoon destination (and the shower was luau themed).

@AbbyM: Fun socks?! Great idea!

My aunt upped the game like that by taking all the tags off and if my cousin guessed who got the gift for her wrong she had to take a shot. She managed to make other people take them with her. I am scared for mine since said cousin is throwing it. Oh and it was a lingere shower and her MIL was there it was great.

Even better is when people bring multiple gifts.

First off those panties are SUPER CUTE!
I love how they made the gift opening more interesting by having her put them on. Great idea!

@ all: The picture above aren’t the actually undies FSIL received — though hers were cute, too. I just selected a photo I thought featured some adorable unmentionables…glad you all like it so much! ;-)

I love games at showers (why am I in the minority on this?!) and that one is a cute idea! I’m loving the knickers you have posted! :)

Great blog! I’m attending a bridal party next week and I’m purchasing lingerie. Does anyone know of an affordable lingerie store? I’ve been surfing online and found sites like http://www.stillhope-lingerie.com and of course Nordstrom’s.
