About Mrs. Bruschetta

Envious

April 28th, 2009 @ 12:42 pm by Mrs. Bruschetta

My most recent shoe find has nearly all the attributes of my ideal wedding footwear: They’re peep toe slingbacks, with a not-too-high (and not-too-short) heel. After first spotting these seemingly perfect shoes at the newly-opened South Jersey Nordstrom, I also learned they’re oh-so comfortable, and not priced out of my budget.

There’s only one thing keeping me from snapping up them up and ending my shoe search.

Envious : wedding shoes Envious

They’re not just green, they’re GREEN. And the only other available color? Black.

I’ve entertained the idea of bold, bright reception shoes, but if I decide to go that route, I’ll be looking for wedges that incorporate one of our main wedding colors — orange or purple. And for our formal pictures and church ceremony, I definitely want any part of the shoes peeping out from below my gown to be a neutral shade — ivory, silver, champagne, or something similar.

So my practically perfect shoes are staying at Nordstrom, and I’m fighting off the green-eyed monster — wishing these amazing lime heels fit my wedding style, and jealous of the bride who could easily integrate them into her day.

I did manage to snap up another clearance rack pair from DSW, but honestly, they’re not the least bit comfortable, and I purchased them mainly to feel better about my failed shopping outing — and fully intended on returning them once I finalized my footwear.

Stay tuned for the rest of this frustrating shoe situation. (Here’s a preview: There’s a happy ending!)

Are you a colored- or a neutral-shoe bride?

I love those green shoes too!
I spent countless hours on the internet and looking in stores for the perfect turquois peep toes. I FINALLY found them last week on Sears.com! When I got them in the mail, they were even more perfect than I expected! Can’t wait to hear your happy ending!

I am definitely looking forward to wearing bright colored shoes under my dress. Ideally bright red, with the dress long enough so you can see it but for pictures and the party I loove the fact that a part of my personality will be shown!

I am definitely a colored-shoe bride! I love how it just pops next to a neutral colored dress.

Ahhhh! How funny! I bought the same green BP shoes from Nordstrom to use for my wedding!

Yes, they do only come in green, purple, balck ,and if I remember correctly, tangerine.

Can’t wait for your shoe reveal!

My dream d’orsay louboutin’s are about $400 outside of my budget…I bought some knock offs ($34) and had them dyed navy blue ($29). Total savings for shoes I’ll never wear again - $575

My sister wore those same shoes from Nordstrom in red at her wedding! She loved them and wore them all night, they were that comfortable. The bridesmaids wore the same shoes in black. Have you checked the Nordstrom website? They may have them in other colors.

@Miss Green Goddess: What size are you? I’m sure you could find them at your closest Nordstrom — or have them shipped to you from another location! I hope they work out for you — those green shoes are amazingly comfy (for dress shoes), and SUPER cute (great for post-wedding wear as well!)

@Pingwin: They’re by “Glint” — and yes, check with one Nordstrom, because if the shoes aren’t there, an associate can help you locate them anywhere in the country!

Oh! they are almost perfect for me. I really want green shoes but am looking for a darker, olive color. I hope stores might have them come fall.

I LOVE the green pumps! Wish I could wear pumps. I have to wear wedges because of the outdoor wedding. I’m wearing champange colored wedges.

I love those bright green shoes! I would love bright shoes, but I had to get a second pair of understated ones—my dress is too thin and whispy for cool colored ones. :(

ACK! MISS B! THOSE ARE MY WEDDING SHOES! I’m sorry that they dont’ have them in your size. When I was a Nordy’s a few weekends ago they had cute satin peepers (full back though) in all sorts of shades…perhaps you should come to DC and we will shoe shop :)

COLORED!! Me and all my BM are wearing HOT PINK heels! You should go with colored it’s very in, young and fresh. But if it’s really not for you then stick with the neutral or a lighter color that fits in your scheme.

They have these exact shoes in Orange and the Nordstrom in Chicago. I know because I just bought them in pink. Maybe you could call and have them ship to your Nordstrom. And I agree - these are SO comfortable.
