About Mrs. Bruschetta

Envious

April 28th, 2009 @ 12:42 pm by Mrs. Bruschetta

My most recent shoe find has nearly all the attributes of my ideal wedding footwear: They’re peep toe slingbacks, with a not-too-high (and not-too-short) heel. After first spotting these seemingly perfect shoes at the newly-opened South Jersey Nordstrom, I also learned they’re oh-so comfortable, and not priced out of my budget.

There’s only one thing keeping me from snapping up them up and ending my shoe search.

They’re not just green, they’re GREEN. And the only other available color? Black.

I’ve entertained the idea of bold, bright reception shoes, but if I decide to go that route, I’ll be looking for wedges that incorporate one of our main wedding colors — orange or purple. And for our formal pictures and church ceremony, I definitely want any part of the shoes peeping out from below my gown to be a neutral shade — ivory, silver, champagne, or something similar.

So my practically perfect shoes are staying at Nordstrom, and I’m fighting off the green-eyed monster — wishing these amazing lime heels fit my wedding style, and jealous of the bride who could easily integrate them into her day.

I did manage to snap up another clearance rack pair from DSW, but honestly, they’re not the least bit comfortable, and I purchased them mainly to feel better about my failed shopping outing — and fully intended on returning them once I finalized my footwear.

Stay tuned for the rest of this frustrating shoe situation. (Here’s a preview: There’s a happy ending!)

Are you a colored- or a neutral-shoe bride?

I love those green shoes too!
I spent countless hours on the internet and looking in stores for the perfect turquois peep toes. I FINALLY found them last week on Sears.com! When I got them in the mail, they were even more perfect than I expected! Can’t wait to hear your happy ending!

I am definitely looking forward to wearing bright colored shoes under my dress. Ideally bright red, with the dress long enough so you can see it but for pictures and the party I loove the fact that a part of my personality will be shown!

Ahhhh! How funny! I bought the same green BP shoes from Nordstrom to use for my wedding!

Yes, they do only come in green, purple, balck ,and if I remember correctly, tangerine.

Can’t wait for your shoe reveal!

My dream d’orsay louboutin’s are about $400 outside of my budget…I bought some knock offs ($34) and had them dyed navy blue ($29). Total savings for shoes I’ll never wear again - $575

My sister wore those same shoes from Nordstrom in red at her wedding! She loved them and wore them all night, they were that comfortable. The bridesmaids wore the same shoes in black. Have you checked the Nordstrom website? They may have them in other colors.

@Miss Green Goddess: What size are you? I’m sure you could find them at your closest Nordstrom — or have them shipped to you from another location! I hope they work out for you — those green shoes are amazingly comfy (for dress shoes), and SUPER cute (great for post-wedding wear as well!)

@Pingwin: They’re by “Glint” — and yes, check with one Nordstrom, because if the shoes aren’t there, an associate can help you locate them anywhere in the country!

I love those bright green shoes! I would love bright shoes, but I had to get a second pair of understated ones—my dress is too thin and whispy for cool colored ones. :(

ACK! MISS B! THOSE ARE MY WEDDING SHOES! I’m sorry that they dont’ have them in your size. When I was a Nordy’s a few weekends ago they had cute satin peepers (full back though) in all sorts of shades…perhaps you should come to DC and we will shoe shop :)

COLORED!! Me and all my BM are wearing HOT PINK heels! You should go with colored it’s very in, young and fresh. But if it’s really not for you then stick with the neutral or a lighter color that fits in your scheme.

They have these exact shoes in Orange and the Nordstrom in Chicago. I know because I just bought them in pink. Maybe you could call and have them ship to your Nordstrom. And I agree - these are SO comfortable.

Miss Bruschetta, those are MY wedding shoes!! I’m so glad someone posted about them. They are incredibly comfortable. I plan on wearing a classic peep toe in ivory for the ceremony but am going to rock the green shoes for the reception!

Miss Bruschetta, have you checked out J Crew? They have some very similar “Carmen” heels that come in “Ivory” and “Weathered Stone.” Be sure to look at the “Lyla” and “Augusta” shoes too; they’re more brightly colored or in fun prints but are worth checking out! All of the above are a little more expensive than your clearance pair, but sometimes it’s worth it if it is the perfect shoe and maybe you could find one of them on sale sometime! :) Best of luck!

Isn’t it weird how uncomfortable that pair of shoes from DSW are?! I was going to get them, too - and one of the main reasons was that they looked comfortable! I couldn’t even walk around in the store in those babies!

I was a colored shoe bride but my something blues had sparklies that were catching the lace on the bottom of my gown. Boo. So now I’m searching for a mid-to-low heel in ivory. Um…can you say impossible??

I was a barefoot bride so that probably doesn’t help. I realize now that its a slightly different shoe, but when I first saw the neutral set, my first thought was - I JUST saw a beautiful photo of those shoes! Well, not exactly the same, but awfully close!

OH MAN!! I want, I want, I want!

*grabby hands*

I have been searching for over a year for “chartreuse” shoes within my budget. Like Pingwin, I missed out on the Nine West JoJus, and now these babies pop up and are just amazing, and of course, not available to me as a Canadian gal.

I’ve even tried the dyeable shoe route - and barely anyone carries those up here either.

*sigh*

To any of you girls looking for the green shoes above they are BP Platinum Elightenment in green satin from Nordstrom, about a 3.5 inch heel. I purchased them for my wedding, but had to call the Nordrstrom service center in order to do so, as they no longer sell this particular shoe online. When you call that number, they will begin your order, take all the info they need from you including your payment info. Then they search around all their Nordstrom stores to see if they can locate the color and size you need. If they find it, it will be shipped to you with no shipping cost. If they can’t locate the particular shoe you need, your card will not be charged and I believe they will get in contact with you to try and make some other arrangement if they can. Happy shopping!! :o)

After reading this post I had to call all of the Nordstroms in Illinois until I found a pair! There are not too many left out there! They are 69.95 plus tax 77.12, then $10 shipping. Not bad at all!

@ Katie - they’re definitely BP but the guy didn’t confirm whether they’re “Glint.”If the salesperson had no clue what you were talking about (this happened to me the first time), i would call again and try for another salesperson. I ended up paying also $69.95 but he told me there was no shipping charge…and so far only the price of the shoes is showing up on my cc.

Those are my shoes! I had to have them ordered, as they were sold out at my store, but I just got them yesterday and I love them! The green color is awesome!

I did see them in black, purple, orange and I think brown. There is also a similar pair as a wedge in brown and black!

So they’re being shipped to a friend of a friend, who is coming up to vancouver, BC in the next couple weeks. Woohoo!

Thanks so much to everyone for all the detailed information.

Now let’s hope they fit and look great with my dress :D
