I love his "old soul" and how he laughs with his whole body, among many other things. We are planning our summer wedding at the winery near his hometown, just 45 minutes south of Orange County.
About Mrs. French Bulldog

Below are the THREE bags of bridal magazines B’s wife, L, passed on to me the day after their wedding. I was excited to reuse them, and Mr Frenchie was excited they were going to my house and not his. L and I have such different taste that it didn’t even matter that she had torn out her inspiration pages.

Yes Sir, Yes Sir, 3 Bags Full : wedding resources 102 1858 Yes Sir, Yes Sir, three bags full!

I have only purchased three magazines on my own because of this over-abundance of wedding porn!

Did you pass on your bridal magazines after your wedding, or did someone pass on theirs to you? How much do you think bridal magazines change from one year to the next?

This sounds crazy but I don’t have a single wedding magazine — not bought or given to me. What kind of bride am I?

I was on a wedding magazine diet during part of grad school — and leading up to Sister Bruschetta’s wedding. Then, soon after getting engaged, I discovered wedding blogs, and now that’s where I find most of my inspiration! It’s funny, actually, to look back on the few old magazines I still have — I’ve recycled most — to see what’s changed, what’s no longer trendy, etc.

I scored over a dozen wedding magazines on Craig’s list for less than the cost of one in a store. These (along with my constant online searching) should hold me over till the big day.

I was tethered to them until I found wedding blogs, but I haven’t bought one in months!

i inherited some from a friend who was getting married a few months after we got engaged, and i’ll admit i’ve bought TONS….but i also had the foresight to subscribe to brides and modern bride, so i saved a ton that way! and i buy MS weddings…cuz, it’s martha. and i love her. same with instyle weddings.

but i had a close friend getting married next year who will probably inherit my stash….unless i can figure out a craft project with the pictures i like!

@BunnyBlue & @Hayley: MS Weddings (and Real Simple) are the ones I’ve bought!

@Hayley: I used the magazines to participate in the Valentine’s Exchange… I made collages of the flower arrangements and cut out letters like a random note. haha

I have SO MANY books and mags! I have a freind who will most likely get engaged within a year. I am just saving them all..and not feeling too guilty about how MANY I have since I know that I will jsut be passing them on to someone else to use and enjoy. :-)

Wow, that’s SO MANY magazines!! I bought about 4 bridal mags when I got engaged, but after flipping through two of them I thought there was too much repetition…
Did you read all of those?!?!?

@Miss Rye Bread: Between my sister and I, I think we read them all. A lot of them were specific to San Diego and I didn’t read those b/c I didn’t think I’d get married there… and now here I am getting married there, but I already have my vendors so there really isn’t a need :)

I’m passing my magazines on to my MOH who’s getting married next year! The only thing that changes is the dresses. Everything else is pretty much the same except for the new hottest trends page, with things this year like candy buffets.

haha I definitely found three years worth of wedding magazines for free on craigslist.

I also subscribed to a few, but when they arrive, I fly through the actual content in 5 minutes flat so I gave them all away. they’re gorgeous to look at, but come on, they say the same things every time and they’re all ads!

I inherited a bunch and bought a bunch. But, after I got married I didn’t know anyone getting married at the time so I just tossed them…I find wedding blogs to be much more inspirational anyway.

FSIL passed on a ton of mags to me. For some reason, I already had quite a few from the past and then I have been receiving lots more for free after attending bridal shows.

i love it hahaha!! Honestly I bought more magz at the beginning of my engagement and as the months went on I stopped buying as many. There was not much change. The only thing that really changes is the latest trends.

I was given a ton of magazines and books from my friends who have been married in the last year or so. I’ve bought three, but I have an entire bag full. I am already starting to wonder about where to send them next. They are totally cyclical. I think every season is repeated with slightly different photos. (spring 08 and 09 are indistinguishable!)

I was obsessed with wedding magazines before I got engaged and subscribed to pretty much all of them, then I found blogs. I havent renewed most of my subsriptions, which is good because my sister gets a ton for free through work, either through her coworkers who just got married or events, plus I always get them free at Bridal shoes or my vendors.

I have recently given a bunch away to my coworkers too. My FI was super happy to see some go!

I think if you read issues from a few different years, a lot of things are the same, but every issue usually comes with something new or different.

I too have an abundance of wedding magazines. At first I started to buy them but then i just figured i was going to grab EVERY SINGLE MAGAZINE if and when I went into any store so i opted to subscribe.

Then I found Weddingbee - Who needs magazines now I say!

I too have a TON of bridal magazines. Most are quite repetative (considering most have the same publisher). Instead of buying magazines now I read lots of blogs and browse those magazine websites and if I see something that catches my eye I’ll print it and put it in my inspiration binder. I like to think I save a lot of money that way!
