Venue: Our home and the two acres it sits on
About Me: I’m an emotional girl who loves sentimental things, parenthetical asides, and trying to do things herself. I can cook, sew, am a whiz at planning, terrible at delegating, and totally in love with my fiancé (who will be my second husband but first love of the rest of my life). For our home/ garden/ DIY wedding, we’ll be moonlighting as interior designers, home improvers, and gardeners with the help of our fabulous friends and neighbors. We can’t wait to be married, and are learning how fun getting married can be.
One of my friends and her husband asked each other, “Will you forgive me?” instead of saying, “I’m sorry.” In looking back at the lead-in to the battles between my guy and I, I’ve notice that the escalation often begins with the first “I’m sorry.”
I’m not gonna lie, I’m the one that gets all worked up over a bad apology. “I’m sorry that you are so upset” doesn’t cut it in my book. Neither does, “I’m sorry but you really ticked me off when…” or, “I”m sorry I have a bad temper.” Apologizing that we’re fighting isn’t what I’m looking for, ya know?
You sweethearts will likely point me to “The Five Languages of Apology” by the author of “The Five Love Languages”, and you’ll be absolutely right that it’s a super fantastic book. My guy, however, doesn’t learn particularly well from reading. {I know, weird, right?} He’s an experiential learner, which means that until he experiences something — or can find an experience in his past that relates in some way — he doesn’t really “get it”.
I have a cat that beats up dogs… well, he’ll try.

I looooove Etsy. The best part about this fabulous online market is that there are so many options! Of course, that’s also the worse part about it, because with so many talented sellers, there’s just too many goodies to choose from—I want them all! Lately I’ve been obsessing over these to necklaces to adorn my neck for our wedding:

About Me: I'm just your average obsessive compulsive, arts & crafts loving, funky-on-the-inside/boring-on-the-outside girl, who dares to say 'Hey! I can make that!' Nerdy professional by day, goofy won-ton by night. The won-ton sometimes comes out during the day when I'm fed the dollar breakfast at Ikea. Since our engagement, wedding planning has put me on high alert for bargains and I've been pushing my nimble fingers through callous building experiments!
I love useful/thoughtful favors as much as I despise little pieces of crap that end up in the landfill right after a wedding. This idea spawned from my panic after hearing about yet another bad one in the works.
You can Download This Calendar for April 2009 through December 2010. I made a sample favor here by adding the circle design from MOH-Ho’s invites on her wedding date.

Below are instructions to make the lil’ calendar:

Venue: Millenium Biltmore Hotel
About Me: I was born and raised in West Los Angeles, California. I spent eight years in the Northeast working and completing my education. Having split time between two sides of the country has given me a true appreciation for both coasts. It has also provided an overabundance of cross country drives, flights and long distance relationship fun/misery! I love my family, my doggy Emma, fabulous wine, Anthropologie, politics, reading, being outdoors, exploring new cities, and good movies! My fiance and I are complete opposites, but somehow we have managed to fall completely and hopelessly in love.
In high school, I was in the best shape of my life: toned with a strong core. The secret of my sleek physique was that I played competitive sports. You’d never guess it now because I resemble one of those un-athletic girly girls that ducks when someone throws a basketball at her. But, believe it or not, less than ten years ago, I was a snarling, sweaty varsity basketball player on a nationally ranked team. It’s something that I am proud of, especially now that I yearn for the athleticism of my younger years. In past years, I have joined gyms, taken weightlifting and aerobics classes in college, and even sent away for DVDs on pilates and yoga. I tend to get bored, and then I fall off somewhere down the line.

About Me: I'm working on my second degree from UGA (Go Dawgs!). I'm a self-proclaimed attention-w****. If it involves a camera, I'm in front of it! You'll never meet a girlier tomboy than me. I can go toe to toe with any guy on the subject of college football, and lift more than any girl in my gym, all without chipping a nail. I hope to someday be the only person you want delivering your sports news. My FI and I are the loving parents of three Labrador Retrievers (one of each color) and are planning a "Southern Romantic Charm" wedding in the beautiful, historic city of Savannah. I'm not extreme in anything except moderation... and wedding planning.
Lindsi (our photog) just sent over the photos from our engagement photo session a couple of weeks ago! We chose the beautiful campus of the University of Georgia as our backdrop, and the photos turned out AMAZING. Take a look for yourself!

We started off with pictures in the Founders’ Garden, which is still beautiful in the middle of winter with no full blooms.

Age and Occupation: 25, Magazine Editor
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Artist and Whitewater Rafting Guide
Engagement Date: April 28th, 2008
Wedding Date: October 2009
Venue: Devil's Thumb Ranch, Colorado
About Me: I grew up in Los Angeles and have since lived in San Diego, Boston, Italy, Hawaii, New York City, and Santa Fe. I speak Italian and love pasta. My real passion is the outdoors, though. When I'm not at work, I'm snowboarding, hiking with my two dogs, mountain biking, surfing, cross-country-skiing, or boating New Mexico's rivers. Despite my boyish love for adventure, I'm a girly-girl at heart and am overly-excited to pull off the romantic, vintage-inspired, country wedding of my dreams.
After I posted about my two color palette options (yellow/brown/cream/white or peach/dusty rose/pink/white/gold), I was going back through some of my posts and came across a comment from the lovely Miss Glitter. She passed along a link that encompassed both of my color scheme options in harmony (something I hadn’t even thought about). I was completely inspired by what she sent along—golds, blushes, wheat, peaches, and creams. The board was built around the golden hills of California, which I love because I’m from there. To me, these colors felt like home.
Thanks Miss Glitter!

My FI and I have been living together for almost three years, so at this point we really don’t need much in the way of housewares. On top of that, we’ll be getting married in Vegas, and then flying back to CA, so we’d rather not lug lots of wedding presents everywhere.
While we would be HUGELY grateful for the generosity and thought that goes into buying wedding gifts, what we really need is money to start paying off our wedding expenses!
I’m just being totally honest here.
The problem is how to get this message across to our guests without sounding like the rudest people on earth. Is this something that we can state in our invitations, or would it be in horrible taste??
If only I could register at Bank of America…

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Physical Therapy Graduate Student
Engagement Date: November 30, 2007
Wedding Date: August 2009
Venue: St. Thomas of Villanova Church & the F.U.E.L. House
About Me: I’m a self-proclaimed grammar geek who loves singing (like, really belting it) in the car. My mister and I are planning a vibrant summer soiree celebrating our passions – including food and Philly – and when we make it official, we’ll have been together for eight years! Being super competitive is in my nature, and talking excessively is in my genes. I’ve got a terrible sense of direction, but can always easily find my way into Mr. Bruschetta’s arms.
The F.U.E.L. House is a gem of a space, with an impressive facade.

And yet, for all the times Mr. Bruschetta and I have strolled through Old City, we didn’t even notice it until we started looking for a reception location!
Step inside, though, and you’ll quickly realize why we fell so hard for this gallery-cum-venue. Immediately, you notice the neutral color palette — and the gorgeous crystal chandelier.

About Me: A lover of Mr. Mascara, crafting, baking, Gossip Girl, diet soda, and all things wedding. A Yooper girl somehow displaced in the Chicago suburbs, planning a wedding from a distance, and counting down the days until I marry my best friend.
We would get an engagement picture like this!

I came across this on Brooklyn Bride today and had to share. My dad is a retired police officer, so this would be a perfect shot for us to capture! Maybe next time… except there won’t be a next time. Maybe we could capture a wedding picture like it instead? How cool would that be! Pretty cool, I think.

About Me: I'm a perfectionist trying to balance two jobs, motherhood, my craft obsession, and wedding planning. I am obsessed with all things wedding, especially creative ideas for saving money and DIY projects. A Southern Belle at heart, I love anything southern, especially sweet tea, grits, afternoon thunder storms, crab cakes, and good old Southern hospitality. Mr. Crab Cake and I are planning a vintage inspired wedding with tons of Southern flare (can y'all say that with a thick Southern drawl?).
I promised y’all a tutorial, and I’ve finally gotten around to doing it! Yay.

Author’s personal collection!
I made this one for Mini CC. She was dying to have one for herself. Likely, she’ll lose it in a few days. But until then, it is her most cherished possession.
I want to preface this by saying I didn’t come up with this on my own. I purchased a kit from Annie Howes on Etsy and supplanted her chiyogami paper for my pictures. I’ll show you how easy it was anyway!

As I continued to look for fresh floral alternatives, I came across an obvious solution: candles. I love candles. And scented candles can be a substitute for the aroma produced by fresh flowers. I mention this, because my mom (who was a tad disappointed when I mentioned I didn’t want to use fresh flowers) stated that she is always reminded of my Aunt’s wedding when she smells chrysanthemums, which were used at her wedding. I hadn’t thought of that before, but I really liked the idea of associating a smell with our wedding day. So, here are some images I found inspiring:

Hey, y’all. I’ll be bee-roadcasting on Bee TV starting at about 6pm EST, and I’ll be on until it stops being fun (and believe me, compared to the other stuff I have to do, this will be fun). Since I don’t sing or dance (like Mrs. Avocado) and I lack crafty talents, I’m offering you the one thing I can do: be honest and have an opinion.

That’s right, today’s Bee TV session will be “Ask Anything with Miss Cheese”. If you ask, I’ll answer. Join me, and we’ll see if we’ll be pulling out a therapist’s couch, taking a tour of la Casa de Queso, or refereeing a fight amongst the Cat Mafia.
It’ll be fun… and if not fun, funny.

About Me: Despite the fact that I’ve invested many long years of my life studying the sciences in college, I’m glad to be out of there and I would never do it again! I’m super artsy at heart - I run an indie craft site, I grew up shooting and developing my own film, doing jazz and ballet, and the whole gamut of art classes. I’ve been called a Jane of all Trades… but I was also told many years ago not to make my passion my career because it’d suck the fun out of it. Hence my choice of day job. We live in Seattle but are having our wedding in Canada to be fair to all our family and friends.
I think most of us would agree that the cinematography put out by Still Motion is hands-down phenomenal. Their ace video man and ace photo lady were recently married in perhaps the most gorgeous setting in the world - St. Lucia. It was photographed by one of my all-time favorites, Justin Demers, out of Ontario.
[My other three favorites are Melia Sorenson out of Vancouver, Sean Flanigan out of Seattle, and the lovely Anna Kuperberg.]
I’ve put together a small collection of my favorite images from their big day, and you can check out more on his blog, todayjm.
