If you’re considering a low key, casual, or city hall wedding, do you really need to be dragging a long dress around behind you? Why not try a LWD (Little White Dress)? In my search for affordable apparel for my (non)wedding, I came across dozens of sweet, sexy and stylish LWDs.
The layers and texture are so romantic, don’t you think?

Really, I mean it. I need to stop ordering invitation samples.

I’m not sure what’s worse: the fact that this picture does not show all of them in my possession or that the one that I *think* we have chosen is not shown (since we haven’t ordered or sent them out yet… pics of the final product will have to wait
). The problem I struggle with is that every time I think I find *the* invitation that will be ours, I find something I like a little more. Such is the problem with buying invitations online… too many sellers, too many options!

Like many brides to be, I have had a really difficult time finding a wedding band. To be honest, we didn’t think about the wedding band while designing my engagement ring. I wanted a really low setting, but didn’t think about how that would affect a wedding band from fitting next to it. Here are some images of my engagement ring:

I originally wanted a very thin, simple white gold band.

To me, DIY projects are not just about having something extremely personalized and to your exact liking; it’s about making something yourself that others charge out the butt for creating!
Enter my DIY “Through the Years” photo slideshow project! I did a quick Google search for pricing on photo slideshows and found that professionals charge an average of a couple hundred bucks a pop for them. Insanity!
What’s crazier is that most people have all the equipment necessary to make a slideshow already on their personal computers! From Windows Movie Maker to Final Cut Pro, there are several options for creating your own photo slideshow.

So, for those of you who might be following me (because, of course, I’m sure my gathering of bridesmaids gifts has left you on the edge of you set since my last installment!), so far I’ve shared the great clutches I’m making for my bridesmaids and the vintage hankies that will be tucked inside. That left me at a grand total of $65.11 for my 5 bridesmaids. But, of course, gifts for the bridal party wouldn’t be complete without jewelry. One piece I’m really excited about are the earrings that the ladies will be wearing.
These fabulous baubles by Etsy’s Precious Meshes will be worn by me. I believe I’ve shared them before… swoon. I just love them! Emily is working on a custom necklace for me to match these lovely earrings, and I can’t wait to share the final outcome… I think it’s going to be lovely!

Happy Friday! Wedding planning is on pause as of late. Mr Piglet and I decided to take a road trip… across the country… to LA… forever. Yup, we arrived this past Monday after 4 days overloaded with quality 1-on-1 time with the Mister.

My last post was about my perspective. I am so glad that so many readers reacted so positively to my post, but I feel like I need to dive into the feelings surrounding the post and give you some background.
As I said, our wedding is next month, and this week, well, I’ve turned from Miss ’happy-go-lucky’ Peeps to Miss ’freaked out/bitchy’ PT. While others around me haven’t felt or seen my wrath, poor Mr. PT has had his hands tied as I tirade around him making demands.
It’s been a low point.

This week I had my long-awaited alterations appointment. Okay, I made it two weeks ago so it’s not really long-awaited, but it felt like it while I was waiting on the mailman to deliver my correctly-sized bra (I’m the friendliest customer he has, I’d bet, given how excited I am when he drives up).
Because my dress originally came from David’s Bridal, I figured I’d get it altered there… but I had a sneaking suspicion they’d be weird about my buying it second-hand, and I was right. See my happy face in the photo below? Totally not related to this paragraph, but a good opportunity to use an unflattering picture. Oh, yea, and I’m wearing too much makeup.
{Honey Sweetie Pie? Don’t read this one. It’s not about you at all, just about my dress drama. Yes, you’re off the hook.}

I’m so excited to share the Kitten Wedding Movie Trailer with y’all!
So, without further ado…
From what I’ve been reading on various boards, blogs, and sites, I’m fortunate to have an involved groom. Mr. Mary Jane and I are both pretty big on planning pretty much everything, and our marriage is no exception. I’ll admit that some aspects of our planned nuptials have fallen by the wayside: our spring school term is approaching “crunch time” and we’re solidifying the purchase of our house. But we’re still thinking about it!
Our schedules are such that we don’t spend a lot of time sitting in front of the computer together. Instead we rely on Google Docs as a repository for all things planning-related. (We even make grocery lists on it sometimes!) Google Docs allows us to access and edit our resources from any computer (with Internet access). It’s connected to our Gmail accounts; I just click on “Documents” in the left corner of the Gmail screen when I want to get to it. We mostly use it to create documents, but it has tools for creating spreadsheets, presentations, and forms too.
Look what I found (after religiously stalking my photographer’s blog for several days):
I love you Ashley!!!!!!!!!!
Do you love your photographer?
Guess what? The wonderful Lo of Lo&Co offered up some fabulous makeup advice for me and my big day. I’ve been searching for someone to do my makeup, but seeing as we are getting married in the middle of nowhere, it has been a challenge. So, I emailed Lo and asked if she had any advice!! (BTW she is SUPER sweet!) I figure I’ve got about 4 months to practice.
Here was her response:
Miss Gloss,
You are too cute! You look really great without makeup, and it will be easy to make you look even more “natural” for your wedding. First of all, your eyes are gorgeous, and you have great skin and bone structure. Let’s just even out your skin tone and add a little definition and dimension. I love your inspirational photos and this is what I refer to as a “classic eye”. It is all about a sheer shimmer shadow and a tight liner across the top of the lid. False lashes can add extra glam. I did this eye on Carissa in a previous post, which has a detailed product list. The only difference is doing a pink lip instead of a deep berry.
I think this will be a great complement to your halter style dress and summer wedding venue. However, since you don’t wear a lot of makeup we need to see how comfortable you are with this eyeliner. I want you to go to a Bobbi Brown, M.A.C. or Stila counter with these photos and ask an artist to show you how to do this eyeliner. All of the aforementioned brands have a gel liner that is perfect for this and easier to use than liquid liner. I recommended trying a dark gray liner instead of black - it will be a little softer.
