The Ring

May 1st, 2009 @ 5:22 pm by Mrs. French Bulldog

After Anne Ruthmann posted her fantastic ring shooting tutorial, I had to take some shots. I didn’t even wait to get home. I used some pears our office had received as a Christmas gift and got to shooting.

Mr Frenchie did a fantastic job on my ring. As you can see, it looks very similar to the Robin’s Brothers ring I’d fallen in love with back in June.

However, after some research, Mr Frenchie decided to by this beauty from James Allen. James Allen also sent him a certificate with his purchase to make insuring it a breeze! The day after that ring was on my finger, Mr Frenchie sent in all the necessary paperwork to Jewelers Mutual have it insured. I’m kinda clumsy, so it was best to play it safe.

How soon after you got engaged did you insure your ring?

How funny. My (future) ring that my guy doesn’t know I know he bought… is similar and from James Allen too.

I just want it sooooo bad already! He’s so mean. :P

Love yours though!! :)

I just did mine like 3 days ago! I’m so bad… I wore it for a good 8 weeks without insurance. I’m so glad nothing happened to it.

Your ring is so beautiful!

My ring was insured the day he bought it and I didn’t get to start wearing until 6 months later!

My FI insured the ring right after he bought it…so over a month before I even knew it existed.

I insured it the Monday after he proposed! We were moving that Friday (he proposed on Thursday) but I did it as soon as possible because it’s just not worth it. I kept it in its box while moving though… don’t want to pop a diamond out before it was insured!

the day after the proposal! I walked into my FIL’s kitchen for breakfast, and my FFIL handed me the paperwork to sign. Vey efficient! It’s a good thing he did, or I probably still wouldn’t have done it…and we got engaged last July!

I was on FH to get the ring insured for about two weeks before he finally did. I originally asked him for the paperwork, he gave me all the specs so I could tell people what I was wearing, but he would not give me the appraisal. He was not okay with my seeing how much he spent on it. Since I am the one that handles most of the finances, and insurance, this was a little bit of a hassle, but it’s what he wanted, I wasn’t going to say know after he put the rock on my finger. after about the 2.5 week mark he came back and said it was added to the insurance. Phew!!! I can breath easier now

my FH bought mine in July and didn’t give it to me till December!! so he insured it well before he gave it to me (just a few days after buying it).

James Allen is great. Good job, Mr. Frenchie.

We insured mine a few months after the proposal. The annual premiums are close to $1000 - oof!

Ours was insured before Mr. Bruschetta even walked it out of the jewelry store. For as much of a flub-job they did with the custom design, they were very diligent about ensuring the insuring (hehe) went smoothly!

ASAP! I’m terrible at loosing things!
We were planning on adding it onto our existing renters insurance but it exceeded the allowable amount for an individual item so she has her own little policy now :)

That is a beautiful ring.

We also had the ring insured right away. It wasn’t on my finger for at least 3 weeks after my husband bought it.

I LOVE your ring…probably because it’s nearly identical to mine! I think your band might be a little thicker, though. I’m curious to see what you get for a wedding band. I’m having trouble finding one.

you guys are great. I was engaged almost 2 years ago and married now, still not insured. I don’t take my rings off from my fingers normally even to go to bed, so I’m not too worried.

Beautiful ring though! My wedding band is similar to your e-band’s setting, maybe I should “upgrade” my e-band setting to match - 10 year anniversary? :D
