This is a very special week in the Apple Cider household. Mr. AC graduated from graduate school this weekend. He has been in his masters program for the last 3 years. It has been an incredible process for him and for us. We have now lived apart for over 4 years, and this graduation marks the beginning of our “new” life together. Because I am recovering from surgery still, I couldn’t be with him, but I sent him my positive energy and couldn’t be prouder of him.

His graduation symbolizes so much for us. In a few weeks he will move from New Hampshire to New York City. For the first time since 2005 we will live in the same place. We will get to see each other regularly, and we won’t have to say goodbye. I wrote about ways that we tried to make our distance seem minimal in the last few years a few months ago. The truth is that having distance between us was incredibly tough.

(I got Mr. AC a card with this image on it. For the last 4 years, I have been taking the train up 6 hours to see him on weekends. This card was so fitting for us!)

I will admit that we are both nervous about living in the same city… but we are both so excited. His graduation kicks off a chain of events leading right up to our wedding.

Here’s to New Hampshire, a state that we enjoyed exploring together. From apple picking adventures, to great wine and great food, to -15 degree weather, and making our save-the-dates.

Next on our list is getting to really plan the wedding together. Everything we have done so far has been over quick weekend visits and over the phone. Now we will get to do things together!

Congrats to my sweet fiancee! I am so, so, so proud of him!
