Mrs. Martini's Picture
Mrs. Martini, New Jersey Age and Occupation: 30, Telecom by day, Superhero by night Fiance's Age and Occupation: 32, Investments & Finance by day, Hip hop dancer by night Engagement Date: May 24, 2008 Wedding Date: March, 2009 Blogging Since: August 18, 2008 Venue: The Venetian About Me: Things that make me happy: Haribo Happy Cola gummies, TV shows on DVD, buying books although I never read them, 80’s rock ballads, ramen, and of course Mr. Martini! He is the calm, logical and number crunching finance guy. I can’t even multiply double digit numbers in my head and I am so indecisive that trying to choose between light green or slightly lighter green paper stresses me out (Wedding planning is going to be soooo much fun). We both find great joy in nabbing great seats at the movie theater for a blockbuster movie on opening weekend, and we are both absolutely crazy about snowboarding. And he loves to cook, I love to eat!
About Mrs. Martini

A few weeks before the wedding, my BMs took over Mr. M’s apartment to make it look as anti-male as humanly possible. Again, I was humbled by the BMs that took so much time to prepare for the shower, and also by the friends that came all the way to Astoria just for me. I really couldn’t have asked for more!

To be honest, I was a little bit nervous about the bridal shower, because although the bachelorette party was very intimate with friends only, the shower included my SIL and MIL! Although I love them dearly and I’m very comfortable with them, it was the first time that they would be in the same room with my friends. But my worries were not needed, because everyone had a fabulous time, and it was just the best shower ever. Of course, the glass of wine I had very early in the afternoon helped calm my nerves, as well. My Bridal Shower, and the Curse of the Red Nose : wedding bridal shower Laughin01 laughin01

The afternoon was jam-packed with various games. This area included a jar of Hershey’s Kisses where guests could guess how many kisses were in the jar. The winner received the chocolate, as well as a prize.

Another fun game - Guests decorated a cupcake in secret, and I chose my favorite without knowing who the “artist” was. There are fewer things in life better than cupcakes, so I had a ton of fun picking my favorite.

The Price is Right - Guests had to guess how much all the items cost. How funny is it that all the guests that lived in NYC were way over budget?

Wedding Pictionary - There was some serious competition going on there!

As I was looking through the pictures, I had to shake my head at my red nose, which is truly the bane of my existence. It never fails to ruin a picture! Needless to say, I shed a lot of happy tears during the shower, and my nose pretty much stayed red for most of the afternoon. This is pretty much nothing however, compared to the tears shed on our wedding day.

Did you cry much at your bridal shower?

The cupcake decorating game looks so fun! Actually, your entire shower sounds like it was fabulous. As for crying, I’m exactly the same. I’m hoping somehow that I’ll have a drought in tears on my wedding day. Otherwise it’ll be waterworks the entire day.
