About Mrs. Mascara

Convinced

May 6th, 2009 @ 2:30 pm by Mrs. Mascara

If all it takes is some draped fabric to make a garage look this dreamy, I’m convinced everything will work out for my own ugly venue as well. This is me breathing another sigh of relief. *sigh* I feel better.

Convinced : wedding decor reception 1 1

Does anyone else look for inspiration to convince themselves that everything will be okay?

I saw this post recently as well, and was floored! It looks like the reception space is inside a fluffy cloud!

I could have saved a lot of money if I had it in my Dad’s Garage!!

I’m sure your venue will be fine. Its awesome that you have such a raw space that you can turn into whatever you want. I went to a wedding recently that when I pulled up outside the Chinese Restaurant I was a little worried, but the draping and decor was SO FABULOUS you felt like you were in a totally different venue.

We’re thinking of doing this in our ceremony area, I think it would give such a great feel to the room

Your wedding will be beautiful! And I echo everyone else’s sentiments. I can’t believe that’s a garage. The transformation is amazing!!

I have an ugly ceiling too and I SO want to do draping like that. It seems extremely expensive though. How are you getting it done if I might ask?

I’m constantly finding pics that make me feel better about my own venue…but it’s more the opposite. I find pics of really UGLY spaces, then I tell myself “No one noticed, because they were focusing on the bride and groom!” My current inspiration is from my mom & dad’s wedding. I’m telling you, that venue needed WORK.

I saw this on SMP the other day too and was floored. The whole wedding was amazing, as they all seem to be on SMP. Draping is soo pricey though! I don’t even want to know the fortune this costed!

Draping may have cost a lot, but think what they must have saved by having it in a garage!

I absolutely look for inspiration elsewhere! Thats why I’m on Weddingbee all the time! Seriously, it has made me feel so much better about some of my DIY projects and covinced me that it gives it a more “personal” feel.

The draping fabric thing is awesome! I had seen some GREAT pictures on TheKnot.com and had really wanted it, but as Miss Gloss above, felt it would be too costly. Without even knowing it, the venue we booked our ceremony and reception has the fabric already draped from the ceiling! Woohoo!

I would definitely look in to it. You never know, it might not be THAT costly. If it makes you feel better, then it would be worth it.
