One of my goals post-wedding is to not purchase a greeting card for one full year, but to make them all instead. I like to think that card recipients feel a little extra special with they get a homemade card for their special occasion. I make my Christmas cards every year and randomly make birthday cards for friends and family members. With all of the wedding crafting I’ve been doing lately, I haven’t had much of a chance to make birthday cards. I did somehow manage to squeeze in some paper crafting time and put together thank you cards for my bridal shower (which I plan on writing a post about very soon!). Here is what I came up with:

The patterned paper is an Amy Butler print and the solid green cardstock is embossed with an embossing folder and my Cuttlebug machine. I also used the Cuttlebug with a two-piece die cut to make the flower. The “thank you” is hand-stamped onto a strip of lilac-colored cardstock paper. All of the pieces were attached to a sheet of folded and cut white cardstock with an ATG Glue Tape Gun by 3M.
I cut out everything at once and then put them all together. This project took me about 3 or 4 hours one evening and I ended up making 36, enough to send to those who attended my bridal shower or who sent us gifts in advance.
With less than three weeks until the wedding, I probably could have used the time for other wedding projects, but I needed a little break from all of those and wanted to do a fun craft that didn’t involve anything in our wedding colors.
What extra little DIY projects are you whipping up that you hadn’t originally planned on working on for your wedding?
