Mr. Ducky’s Turn

May 7th, 2009 @ 6:31 pm by Mrs. Duckling

The ladies’ dresses are all taken care of, so the next big thing to take care of is figuring out what Mr. Ducky and the groomsmen will be wearing. Mr. Ducky and I are planning on going shopping this weekend to find what he will wear on our big day.

Long ago, Mr. Ducky decided that he did not want to wear a tux. He tends to overheat, and did not want all the layers of a tux. And, he thought it would be just too formal. I think Mr. Ducky would look so handsome in a tux, but I also know he will look equally charming in a suit, and he’ll feel most comfortable in one.

The look of gray suits matches the balance of casual and classy. I have been admiring many pictures of gray suit-grooms lately in all the blogs. I have to admit that I really don’t know that much about men’s suits, so Mr. Ducky will be doing most of the choosing. I do love all this inspiration, though!

While the gray’s are different, I loved this image because the whole bridal party is dressed in gray like ours will be. And of course, it is the wedding of one of our wonderful PROs.

And Mr. Ducky and I hope to find some fabulous socks!

I’m excited to see what we find. I’ll try to take pictures for you all if he allows it. He thinks I’m picture crazy.

Any advice for us before we go on our suit search?

My groom is wearing a light grey suit as well! :) I think something about the grey looks so nice paired with a white/ivory bridal gown!

I love the gray suit and would total go that route if brown weren’t a color. I think we might opt for tan.

And, I LOVE the kooky sock idea!

Mr Frenchie is also opting for a gray suit… we’re most likely getting his from J Crew :)

My groom is wearing a warm brown casual looking tux. I’ve ALWAYS wanted him to wear a brown suit or tux! If our Florida fall wedding colors (kraft brown, medium teal, and mustard) were slightly different, he’d probably go for a gray one as well. :-)

I think I am officially going to try and convince FI to get a gray suit. :)

I think I may have commented about this on different suit post, but all of our guys got their suits from Express. The prices are really reasonable and the quality is surprisingly good. I think they will look great! (And I have to admit that we totally copied the look from that all-gray bridal party pic you posted, I think that groom’s suit is from Express!)

My FI picked his out of a catalogue in five minutes. Grr. And he doesn’t like to try stuff on, so no pictures. Double Grr! But he knows what he wants and what’s comfortable so in the end I got over it and now I’m glad he’s like that!

You found some great inspiration! You know, suits, especially gray ones, was something I never really thought about when I was planning, but WOW, if I could go back…

My local men’s warehouse was having a great sale last weekend on suits, and we were able to order suits for all the guys for less than half the cost of what I saw at Macy’s or L&T.

Hehe, fun socks. Mr. Bruschetta’s just not interested in doing that, and while I’m totally fine with his decision, I love seeing what other bees select with/for their grooms!
