Only not as..."talented". More realistically, I'm a foodie who can't bake; a dancer and dilettente; an art collector with a penchant for the whimsical and subversive. I live in the city and adore the country, but not much in between. I like smart design, great craftmanship and good value. Most of all, I love the new vintage aesthetic: classic, sweet, delicate, bespoke. About Mrs. Perfume

So, I had my first serious nightmare last night. Among other things, it was about flowers. I dreamed that the tiny start-up florist that we went with used purple mums and some rope for my bouquet. Oh yeah, and a single wilted rose. There were some flowers in some pails in the getting-ready-room (which, by the way, was the green room of a theater) and I tried to put them together, but they kept calling my cue. Wedding, theater, it’s all the same.

I realized this morning that I want different flowers… that what I spied while reading OnceWed blog yesterday afternoon worked its way into my subconscious and surreptitiously took over my flower plan. I no longer love the mini Calla lilies that I already specified to the florist. Now I would like (really like) these:

I was anti-white-roses for my bouquet. It was peonies, then Calla lilies, but now, it’s dusty roses! They’re soooo old fashioned!!! I love them! So, I just emailed the florist. She’s going to kill me, and then tell me it’s too late to make changes. :(

Has your floral plan shifted dramatically in the months leading up to your wedding?

I have never seen dusty roses before, and they are fantastic! Spot on describing them as old-fashioned. They would look great in the photos. I might change my order right now…

It’s definitely changed since the original contract — which was drawn up before I discovered wedding blogs!

Love the dusty roses idea!

I’m considering making a change - but I don’t think I’m going to let myself go there….because you know, I might want to change the bridesmaid dresses, the groomsmen outfits, the decorations….oh the list never ends, and such is the life of an indecisive bride! =)

I love those roses, it’s worth the risk! ;)
My floral plan hasn’t changed, but if I don’t get to doing some serious sewing, it might.

Love them, and I was thinking the same thing as LLauRRa - they seem very you. Yes, I realize that’s coming from someone who only “knows” you from this blog, but still!

I’ve already changed three times, but the ‘final decision’ has to be one month prior for ordering of flowers. That gives me just a few weeks to change my mind again :)

i actually think the dusty roses would go better with the overall theme/feel than the callas (which i adore, don’t get me wrong).

the lush roses are more vintagey than the sleek callas, IMHO (also talking like 14 yr old girl ;) )

tell florist lady pretty pleeeeease?
