About Mrs. Hydrangea

Better Late Than Never!

May 8th, 2009 @ 3:57 pm by Mrs. Hydrangea

Hello hive! Many of you might not remember me, but this is Mrs. Hydrangea here. It’s hard to believe that it has been almost eight months since we said, “I Do”; it seems like just yesterday. After our September ’08 wedding, life caught up with us and I never finished my recaps, which were always there in the back of my mind. Now that life has adjusted, there is just not any good excuse to keep the last bit of our wedding from the hive!

For those of you who might not know me well, here are a few links to catch up with where I left off:

Now, it’s time to get back to the recaps, and to one of my most favorite parts of the evening, the introduction of the wedding party. Little did our wedding party know, we had a little plan to make the intros interesting, thanks to our amazing DJ, Andy Austin. We filled out questionnaires for each member prior to the wedding in order to give them a mini-roast instead of just announcing their names, but that wasn’t the only trick we had up our sleeves that evening.

Okay enough of me explaining, I’ll let the photos (thanks to Perez Photography) do the rest…

Before we all made our grand entrance, Andy made sure that the audience was getting pumped up for the party, because that’s what we wanted for our reception: one hell of a party. :)

Mr. H and I really wanted to see everyone being introduced, which meant we did not want to be the last ones out. So, to change it up a bit, our DJ introduced us first, to a fun Latin song, making everyone think that it was our first dance - until I waved my hands for them to cut the music, Mr. H and I took our front row seats, and the roasting began.

Once we were done with our faux-first dance, Mr. H and I were more then ready to have the introductions begin.

To fill you in, the groomsman above has an Impala… and Andy began playing a little Dr. Dre and Snoop, and the roasts began.

Andy asked each couple to come out and do a little dance, or something creative. A nice toast was the perfect way to start out the night.

This beautiful couple is also married, and are some of my best friends from college. They had taken dance lessons for their own wedding so, needless to say, they already had their dance ready to go!

What are they doing in this pic? Well, Andy mentioned to the crowd that this beautiful, stylish couple actually met in the college band!

Always the fashionista, she worked the dance floor.

Mr. H and I were definitely getting some good laughs. Although we filled out the questionnaires, we had NO clue what Andy was going to come up with. He, by far, surpassed our expectations, and had the whole room filled with laughter.

Here is one of my best friends from HS and Mr. H’s brother-in-law.

My friend from HS has become quite the athlete and she’s pretty hardcore, if I do say so myself. Just check out the pic below.

Mr. H’s brother-in-law is quite the performer. While he can sing in real life, Andy had him lip-sync Enrique Iglesias, and he definitely put on a show.

Last up? Mr. H’s brother, his best man, and my mom, best friend, and MOH. While they weren’t too creative, Andy provided some great intros that left everyone smiling.

Up next? Well, I promise I won’t wait months for the next recap, and you will finally get to see Mr. H and I have our true first dance, as well as the big celebration.

Beautiful! Where did you find the dress that the woman in pictures 6,7,8 is wearing with cascading flowers?!

@Scusie: I believe that she bought it at Bloomingdales. In one of my previous recaps she posted where she found it. Since I let them pick out their own dresses, I am kind of clueless! Sorry I can’t help much!
