Okay, now that you know what I’m wearing, it is time to show you what Mr Frenchie will be wearing.
We decided a while ago that because of our more casual venue, Mr Frenchie and his dudes are going to wear suits, instead of tuxes. Also, this way we could buy Mr Frenchie’s suit, and he can wear it again. We bounced around the idea of light colored suits, like khaki, or light tan.
But, then, Mama Frenchie said she didn’t like khaki, and rather than fight it, we decided to look at gray… and the more I thought about it, the more I liked gray, especially with my dress.
Mr Frenchie went on the hunt for a gray suit and, all on his own, ended up on the ever popular J.Crew Weddings site. Even though my parents gave him a gift card to Men’s Warehouse for Christmas, we found the perfect suit at J.Crew, so we’ll probably end up buying him a nice shirt and other work clothes from MW. Here is the suit he found…
Mr. F is especially fond of the tie clip and tie square because it reminds him of the suits the guys on Mad Men wear, and he loves the style of their suits.

My FI is super excited to wear a tux (he wears suits daily for work) and he wants to buy his own because he hates the idea of renting them so we”ll prob. let the guys wear black suits if it does not look weird. He actually tried on a really nice Ben Sherman tux which was about $200 at T.J. Maxx about a month ago but unfortunately, it was not his size so we”ll keep looking for a budget friendly tux. I really like the grey suit idea and think it will go nicely with your dress.
So handsome… I found a suit on J. Crews website for Mr. CC to wear to a wedding I’m in next summer…I’m waiting for it to go on sale before we buy it.
Haha. I showed Matt the first picture you have, the tan suit, and he told me no way. We’re going with khakis, white shirts and a navy blazer. The groomsmen will wear yellow ties, and Matt will wear a green one!

Mr. Yorkie will be wearing a suit. It’s too hot for tuxes on the beach in June!
my fi is rocking that same j.crew suit for our 2nd reception! we took advantage of the markdown on the suit + a 20% off coupon and free shipping. price wise it was pretty fabulous and he was in dire need of a suit upgrade anyway, so it was also an investment in his wardrobe. i might just make him model it for me again, hee.
oooo I love a man in a suit. My Fiance has his and I can’t wait to see him in it when he’s had it altered to fit him. I also love MadMen, that show just is drool worthy from the actors,costumes to the set design.
I’ve been torn between a tux and a khaki suit. I love both…..and cannot make up my mind!
Frenchie!! Thank you for posting that. We are having the groomsmen wear that J. Crew Heather Coal suit but I couldn’t find it on the website anymore. Through that link, I was able to find it, and it’s on HUGE sale now. Thank you!!!! I just placed a huge order. My man is wearing the same one in black.

A gray suit is HOT! Just picked up Mr. Peeps brown suit from being altered this afternoon!!
I told the Mr he could wear a nice suit so it would be rewearable, but he said he wants to wear a tux so he’s wearing a tux. But I also think he’s going to wear a gray suit, but he also might do pintstripe. We’re going to check it out once my finals are over (come on Friday of next week!)
My groom’s wearing a gray suit too! But it’s a hand-me-down from my dad–he wore it when he and my mom got married.

my future father-in-law, however, owns a tux, and has been hinting that he would like to wear it. LOL
Our colors are brown and chartreuse, so a tan suit seemed to work a lot better with these colors than black or gray. We actually went for the tan suit you have in your first photo!
Love the suit, and I like the look of the pocket squares. I really love kahki suits, but FH is very very fair skinned, and a little pink (he’s a red head), and worries that he will look washed out, so I think we are going to go with chocolate brown suits (colors are brown and Tiffany blue, with green accents). maybe some green pocket squares.
I’m not gonna lie, the suit is HOT! I think a tux might be too traditional for what I envision for my day. I even talked my FI into the idea and he likes!
The Mr and the decision of a suit is all up to him. The only thing was once he decided I wanted to make sure that I liked it. Well actually I am in love with his decsion. Chocolate Brown suits the guys will have matching vest and ties depending on the BM they are paired with.
The grey suit is gorgeous! I think its so classic.

Will the groomsmen also have to purchase a suit? I wanted to do the same thing but was afraid it would be cost prohibitive for the guys.
@Katie: Our plan is to have them rent suits from Men’s Warehouse… we really need to get on that!
We asked and were told they do not rent suits at Men’s Wearhouse….let me know if you hear differently!
That was why we are probably going to have to go with a tux.
