Pretty Packages, Part 2

May 8th, 2009 @ 2:55 pm by Mrs. Crab Cake

So, my “gift wrap” came a few days ago. Mr. CC didn’t want to even see it, but I rushed to the bedroom to try them on.

There are no pictures to document this nightmare.

The pink one:

Wasn’t too bad. They have heavily Photoshopped the stock photo, cause my nipples show right through that see-through fabric. But I guess that’s half the point, aye?

The ivory one, on the other hand:

Was atrocious! It was like maternity lingerie, except I’m not pregnant, and if I were, it probably still wouldn’t be cute.

Surprisingly, the ivory one was the one I thought would fit better. Something about the way the bust is cut made me think that the girls would be hoisted better. I was totally wrong!

So, the ivory is going back, and I need to replace it with something else. I saw this:

in the store today and I think I might give it a try. It comes in some cute colors (the purple was outstanding!) that are somewhat bridal, like ivory. I might go back to the store and actually put it on before I buy it offline. That would probably be a good idea.

I did buy this today.

The Mister has a thing for garters (my personal opinion is it has something to do with the ’40s). It wasn’t purchased especially for the honeymoon, but for an event this coming weekend (more info later!). But it was super cute on and I didn’t feel like a tramp. It will definitely make the trip to Panama City with us.

We’re still looking for something perfectly bridal for the wedding night. I checked out figleaves.com, but wow, I cannot see spending that kind of money on lingerie. I guess I need to wait on the sales…

I want to thank everyone for all their suggestions. I spent a lot of time checking out all of your suggestions.

I love the polka dot outfit! So sexy! I totally agree with a lot of the lingerie looks cute and then once it is tried on it looks like maternity lingerie I really don’t get it.

Love the polka dots. I’ve tried on the third one- not so great with big boobs. Mine were over flowing!! Sorry for TMI. But good luck!!!

I wore a set from Dillards for the big night. It wasn’t anything real fancy but a felt pretty and it didn’t look awful in the chest area. Plus it was pretty affordable. There is a nightgown and a matching robe.
This is the link.
For the nightgown: http://www.dillards.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=301&langId=-1&storeId=301&productId=501791925&N=1603946&searchUrl=%2Fendeca%2FEndecaStartServlet%3FN%3D1603946&R=03008515

I have the same problem; I’m a small dress size but wear a 32DD; I spent months searching for lingerie for my wedding/honeymoon/and boudoir pictures. I finally gave up on finding a slip/chemise that would fit by itself and support me/give me sexy cleavage. The seamstress at Nordstroms suggested two things that really worked: 1. Having a bra (not just cups, a whole bra) sewn into a slip and/or 2. just wearing a matching bra under a sexy nightie. It took some trial and error, but if you can find a bra that’s low cut and a little skimpy that gives you great support, you can just slip on a nightie over it, you’ll never really notice the bra underneathe and it won’t matter if the nightie isn’t supportive or the cups are a bit too small, because the bra will be doing all the work. Good luck!

I went with the one you found as a replacement! I got it in ivory.

I like the polka dots, too! My fella isn’t really into lingerie. I think it’s fun, but he hardly looks at me in it.

I totally snagged up a ton of lingerie from FOH. I had it shipped home, and I’m torturing my FI because I told him he can’t open it! LOL

The polka dots are so cute and saucy at the same time-my favorite thing! Great choice!

I’m debating ordering the pink one for myself - FH could care less about lingere but I want something fun for the wedding night! So I figured that I could skip the lace and all that and at least get something comfy too - aside from being see through, is the pink one soft like it claims?
