About Mrs. Cowboy Boot

Hive Knows Best

May 9th, 2009 @ 3:45 pm by Mrs. Cowboy Boot

Hive, I need help with a decision. After that last flower post, I had a sudden change of heart. I get a little uneasy when this happens, because then I’m suddenly heading down a path that involves lots of back-and-forth with my vendor. In this instance, my florist. And I hate to seem flighty and indecisive—It doesn’t do anyone any good.

But, the feeling I got was so intense, I can’t ignore it. I started thinking that maybe I want more cream or white in my bouquet with hints of peach, instead of having an all-peach bouquet with touches of cream, which was my original plan. I am worried that the bouquet will disappear into my dress if it is too creamy, and white will be too stark against ivory. But, now I’m thinking the peach bouquet might not seem classic in 30 years. If I go cream and white, I can use a colored ribbon to add pop. Or, vice-versa, if I go for colored flowers. Give me your vote!

Peaches with pops of whites and creams, wrapped with leftover ivory fabric and a little raffia:

Mostly white, with pops of peach and apricot, wrapped with peachy ribbon and raffia:

Here are a few inspiration photos of mostly white bouquets with bursts or tinges of color:

So, which do you like better? Option 1: mostly peaches with bursts of white? Or Option 2: White or cream with pops of peach or apricot? Or, should I mix up the color variation differently, or do different specific flowers in peach or cream?

I had a similar battle going on in my head. I decided that I wanted a little color with my dress and that the girls who are wearing color should have mostly cream bouquets. I really love your peach inspiration pieces too!

definitely peach. it will still be classic, it’s not like you’re going with neon orange and fuschia!

though I love those colors too :)

Option 2!!!! I love how simple, understated yet bright & happy at the same time.
I think your concern about the white on ivory will turn out to be minimal. You aren’t going to be carrying your bouquet the whole time… and of the pictures you take I think the contrast will bring depth and a refreshing color variant.
That is what I think… But I tend to like smaller daintier flowers so this might be more a personal preference screaming out. ;o)

I love the mostly peach inspiration photos, and definitely think peach would stand out better against your dress.

Plus, from what I can see in that tiny profile pic, the peach would look absolutely gorgeous with your coloring.

Option 1 seems more you and if you are worried about it not being classic enough don’t worry, I’m sure it will be because peach has such an antique feeling.

My vote is for whites and creams with pops of peach and a colored ribbon! :)
I’m biased because I’m going with mostly creams in my bouquets but I love that looks! Some of my favorite weddings that I’ve seen online have mostly white/cream bouquets and I think it’s timeless. :)
However, both options really are beautiful!

Go for color! Most features of my wedding are vintage and timeless, but I want lots of beautiful color in my bouquet.

I’m going to go along with Miss Crab Cake- more peach for you, to pop with your dress, and more white for the girls. It would be a nice combination, I think. :)

I vote for option two, mostly creams with pops of peach (and a colorful ribbon)! I think the look is more classic and is just beautiful. And I would do option one for BM bouquets. ;)

But, in the end, you should go with your gut because whatever you love now you will love in 30 years!

Miss CB, you don’t need to second guess yourself! ;)
I love the peaches with bursts of white. Really, the bouquet I think is the most beautiful here is the 2nd one from “peach bouquet inspiration”.

To be honest, I like them both. I know that’s no help in you choosing, but I think they are both elegant and lovely enough that they won’t look dated OR disappear into your dress. So, whichever one you choose, please don’t worry about it being “wrong”. Just go with what you love! (or what the hive says :P)

I think how classic it remains may be determined more by the types of flowers you use and not necessarily the colors. I love option one, peach with pops of white. So gorgeous!

I don’t think either way will really matter. My favorite bouquet out of all of them is the first mostly white one - it’s beautiful.

For another peach inspriation - check out Martha Stewart peach flower pictures on the wedding site. There is one there that you will LOVE!

I did have the same thought as you… and was originally going to have all white with hints of peach. I decided to keep it simple and just go all white. No color - not even my ribbon! I went back and forth for a while… but I’m sticking with that decision.
Good luck!

I’m a big fan of your second option — white/cream with peach is somewhat classic, butt also unexpected and unique!

I like the second option most: cream with bits of peach. However, I really do think either one will look gorgeous! All your inspiration photos are beautiful.

I am a white/cream with a little peach person, but they are both gorgeous! They are my flower color pics too. You have great taste! :)
