About Mrs. Stiletto

Did I ever mention that I have a shopping problem? Specifically, an online shopping problem. Click, click, click, and my new stuff is on its way. Sigh.

But, I do happen to need a dress to wear to my wedding shower this summer. I mean, everyone will be coming in to see me, so I must look nice. Right?

Stiletto, DO NOT Buy This Dress : wedding dress Anntayl
And, well, I think I would look quite nice in this lovely damask dress from Ann Taylor Loft. And not just because we’re having hints of damask in our wedding (seriously, I went from all-out damask down to a touch here and there… oh, where did the damask go?!).

Black and white damask, in my opinion, is just the perfect mix of the black and the white, while looking amazing with a great “pop” color like red, yellow or green. It’s kind of like a black and white cookie - the perfect combination of black and white in every bite!

Big sigh. My fingers are simply itching to purchase this little number. It’s on sale for a mere $39.50! I know that Ann Taylor Loft always has crazy good sales, so I think this will eventually land on the clearance rack. But it’s such a fabulous dress. Won’t everyone else just snatch it up before me?!

Sadly, like many of you out there, the Stilettos have been hit by the… duh duh duh… economy! We’re in a spending freeze until further notice, so new fabulous dresses at amazing prices are not allowed at this time. Please, my lovely damask friend, hold off until my credit cards* have thawed out!

Are there wedding purchases you’ve considered but can’t justify right now?

*Please note: No, the Stilettos have not found themselves in crazy credit card debt or other financial woes, requiring us to be put on a “spending freeze”. Other priorities have caused us to pull back on spending for the time being. Even if one of us finds the most AMAZING dress. That’s FOR THE WEDDING. Sigh.

As soon as I received the email offer from Loft of their $39.50 dresses this weekend, I said I was buying this dress (so sorry!). We are having a black and white wedding, and this is perfect for our day-before party at the Jazz Festival. Good luck- I have had to cut a lot of things due to the economy too! This too shall pass!

I feel a lone tear building up! Miss Stiletto, the dress is great, and it’s a great price for the Loft might not get any cheaper. I would call to ask if you bought the dress in the next week or two and then it went down in price in a month or two could you get that price… always good the check? Good luck with economy, I know we are having a bit of a “hold your breath” moment too!

Such a great dress! I think everyone is having to pinch their pennies these days. Let’s hope everything thaws out this fall!

Oh man, if I was in your position, I would totally buy this dress because who knows if you can ever get it again for that price.

I hate when I don’t live in America (which I don’t, ever! :P). What a gorgeous little dress! I want it. I guess you just have to justify in your mind if it’s worth it Also, if you don’t get it, how upset will you be? Will you spend the next 6 months going ‘I should have got that dress, I should have got that dress…”?

If you don’t get the dress, you’ll live! And then after your spending freeze is over, you’ll find another fab dress that you can buy. Stay strong!! :D

Hold Out for Clearance! But I hear you I also find myself seeing something that I think I desperatly need right now for the fear that it will not go on clearance or it may never and then disappear for ever

Yeah, I should really put myself in a spending freeze, but I found myself spending mad crazy money this weekend! Why can’t I stop? I have an addiction…

ooooh - this is a GREAT dress. I work at ATL and it really is beautiful! you can get a price adjustment within 14 days. also - if you wait and then they don’t have your size online, go into a store and have them order it from another store. and as always, keep watching for promo codes! :)
