Mrs. Perfume, DC Age and Occupation: 36, Consultant (and Part-Time Professor) Fiance's Age and Occupation: 41, Consultant Engagement Date: May 13, 2008 Wedding Date: May, 2009 Venue: The Homestead, Hot Springs, Virginia About Me: I'd like to think that I'm a modern day Little Edie Beale. Only not as..."talented". More realistically, I'm a foodie who can't bake; a dancer and dilettente; an art collector with a penchant for the whimsical and subversive. I live in the city and adore the country, but not much in between. I like smart design, great craftmanship and good value. Most of all, I love the new vintage aesthetic: classic, sweet, delicate, bespoke. If I had to do it all over again, I'd go for a culinary arts degree rather than a PhD; but wouldn't trade Mr. P for the world.

I think I read somewhere that it’s a Dusty Rose?

Um, as soon as I saw them I thought of those AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS roses from the movie Bed of Roses with Christian Slater and Mary Stuart Masterson. I can’t find the name after researching but they say it a GABILLION times during the movie…they’re so pretty.

@ Miss Soon ToBee– Sterling roses!! My friend and I were obsessed with that movie in middle school, and then we became obsessed with sterling roses. They are the only rose that does not have a stem. They do look quite a bit like the roses pictured here, although they might be more lavendar but it could definitely be them. However, my florist JUST told me that sterling roses have recently been “re-named” - who knew that happens to flowers? And I can’t remember what he said! But doing a search on sterling roses and what their new name is might help you out!

Soo pretty,

I had never really liked that kind of two tone rose, but then I found a florist this morning who did amazing things with them, and now they’re really growing on me.

These ones are more peachy pink than lavendar

In Bed of Roses, they call it a sterling rose.

Right, I was going to guess sterling rose. Also from the movie!! You’ve got me curious, though, as to why you need the name. Is there a play on words coming?

Thanks, guys, for all the help!!! Sterling roses are beau-tee-ful!!!! I spoke with my florist, and they are Amnesia!!! The cream blossom and pale green outer leaves that graduate to the pale pink/mauve, are this Amnesia rose. However, the florist says they aren’t nice in person. Whuh? So we’re going with something very similar called La Belle Bicolor novelty rose. Another vintage flower that looks similar is the Old Dutch rose for any of you in love with this flower!!!

I NEVER thought I’d go with a rose bouquet and here I am at the 11th hour searching for them!!

@BunnyBlue: @Mariana: You guys were right!

@Moara: Those are the La Belle Bicolor that we’re going with!
