About Mrs. French Bulldog

Hi, I’m Lame.

May 12th, 2009 @ 2:28 pm by Mrs. French Bulldog

Okay, so who watched the Grey’s Anatomy episode last week where Izzie and Alex tied the knot? I did.

Source

It’s weird to me the things that get me excited about our wedding. I know some of you are like me, and you get distracted by your growing “to-do list” and lose sight of what you’re planning for. Sometimes, this wedding doesn’t seem real to me. I really found the man I’m going to spend the rest of my life with? Me? I feel pretentious using the word “fiance”.

And then I watch a TV show one Thursday evening and it sinks in. A FREAKIN’ TV SHOW, and I’m crying tears of joy all by myself because in a little over 100 days I’m getting married. THAT is going to be me. I’m going to have a husband, he’s going to have a wife, we’re going to be a team, and no matter what, we’re going to have each other. YAY!

Am I the only one whose wedding doesn’t (didn’t) feel real yet?

Ha! Sometimes it really doesn’t feel real yet to me, and I’m thinking what the heck is it going to take to have it sink in?!

TV gets me emotional about it too. We’ll be at 150 days tomorrow. I don’t think it’s sunk in yet. I wish it was this month. I am so ready. I’m ready to get to wifing. :)

Sometimes it seems real to me and sometimes it doesn’t. Like today. We are officially 4 months away from the wedding. And it seems like forever and it seems like tomorrow! I’m sooo ready though!

I am so glad I caught up on my DVR’d shows this weekend, because that twist was such a great surprise! I was totally emotional as well and I’ve been married for three months! Sometimes I still can’t believe it!

I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately… and I’ll think of a specific song we plan to use, or begin to put together my ceremony in my head… and start to get all teary - and I’m like 500+ days out, so I’ve got a lot of emotion to get through yet!!!

Now that we have reserved the venue and browsing has become planning, it feels very real! LOL I can’t wait for the next 10 months to fly by!

I’m right there with you, Frenchie! Between the lists and details, it’s easy to lose sight of the purpose. Tomorrow makes a month for us… it’s very quickly becoming real! :o)

Sometimes it hits me randomly in the middle of the day that “hey, we’re married”! Six months later, it’s still pretty fun.

(BTW, I bawled for 30 minutes straight after that episode of Greys. Augh!!)

Mine definitely doesn’t, maybe because it is over 450 days away.

After dating for 4 years I couldn’t wait to call him my fiance. But then I felt pretenious using it too! I’m glad I can finally say “my husband.” Pretty soon you will too!!

PS I cried through the entire Grey’s episode

I get caught up in so much of the stress and day-to-day “life-happens” type of things. It’s crazy when I sit back and really think about all that’s happening in the next 6 months!

We’re getting married in the same month, and I still feel like it’s far away yet close all at the same time. I pretty much think of FI as my husband now though. In my mind it’s simply the ceremony now. I completely understand the stress of day to day life making you forget the enormity of what you’re about to do.

Mr. E and I still mess up. We’ll be talking and I’ll call him a great boyfriend, then say fiance, then crap! Husband! You’d think I’d have the hang of it by now ;)

Hi, not to rain on your parade, but countries outside of America get tv episodes quite a bit later, so I’d really appreciate if you guys could be careful about spoilers, because this hasn’t happened here yet. Yes, I know this is the internet so I could see spoilers at any moment anywhere (and sometimes do, sadly) but a bit of a spoiler gap or “Stop reading if you don’t want to know what happens on Grey’s” would be hugely appreciated!

I didn’t actually read the rest of your post, but I saw too much with the first line. I’m sorry if I’m overreacting (I really do know it’s just a show!), but I’m one of those people who hates to know what’s going to happen!

I was watching that episode in tears and thinking “I have to show this to FI!!” And I LOVED Alex’ vows. Seriously. Tears! I think I shall steal them, LOL. J/k! But that was so sweet, and it totally made it sink in for me!

I feel Ruby Slippers! Thank goodness for abc.com because I would have been upset as well if I hadn’t watched it there.

I hit the 6 month mark last week and it got real for me. I’m sure that feeling will go away again until each month mark comes up and then it’ll be renewed!

i’m @ 39 days until the wedding and i am still pinching myself. There is so much to do still before that day. I’m so excited but at the moment i am finishing up W/ school so that is kind of taking over right now. I think I will be feeling it more when I get down to like 20 days! Although RSVP’s have started rolling in so that is a daily reminder which is AWESOME!

Hi, I’m Lame. I cried.

Seriously though, I think that silly television show made me realize that no matter when, where, the dress, the flowers… it’s just about getting married to the man I love.

Bummer…I’ve managed to avoid ALL info about Grey’s for the past three months while I finished up wedding planning. Not an easy feat, either! Just now getting ready to catch up on old episodes. I hate spoilers. :(
