I’m sorry. I can’t bring myself to refer to these as STDs (shiver), so if I must abbreviate them, I choose “STDI”, for Save The Date Invitation.
Now that I know the majority of our guests have received our Save The Dates, I am really excited to share them with you. Originally we were going to order postcards from Vista Print, with a picture of Mr. F and I in front of the Bernardo Winery sign. This didn’t end up happening for a few reasons…
1 - We took HORRIBLE pictures the day we went down there.
2 - MOB still wanted to put them in an envelope, because she was afraid some criminal would get a hold of our information and rob our house while we were all in San Diego. At first I thought she was paranoid, but I guess back when my mom and dad got married, and it was more common to have your wedding announced in the paper, her neighbor’s house was robbed (all the wedding presents were stolen) while they were all at the wedding. My grandparents actually had someone watch their house when my mother and father were married.
3 - Our Friendor (and groomsman), Joe, had a much better idea. 
Mr Frenchie and I asked Joe to do our invitations on New Year’s Eve this year, and Joe hit the ground running, talking about letterpress, and all the ideas he had. We were all REALLY excited. After bouncing around the idea of using my new Gocco, we ultimately decided to have them printed when Mama Frenchie gave us a 1-week deadline the week before my finals (thanks, Mom). I was freaking out about getting them done by Mama Frenchie’s deadline, and Joe just got it done. So, with out further ado…
… and the other side (I have no idea which is the front, and which is the back)…
Joe is my BFF since 4th grade my bridesmaid’s hubbers. He is an awesome graphic designer, along with being a great friend, husband to my BFF, and father to the CUTEST kid EVER. If anyone is interested in hiring his talents, you can PM me, or go to his website.

Haha, STDI. I think I like that a lot better too. I love the image on the second side, too cute.
I think we are going to have a lot of friendors. We are still working on things, but its nice when you have creative and supportive friends to help you out.

I love the Bernardo Winery - I used to go there when I was a kid — they had an amazing doll store. Congratulations!

Too cute! I need to start probing around to see if my friends have any hidden craft talents. Btw, my post about save the dates just went up and I had an asterisk by the first abbreviation that said I never fail to let out a giggle when writing it that way, but I guess I edited it too late before Pengy put it up. I totally feel you though! 
oooh i just saw that your friendor Joe lives in San Clemente!! I’m in the OC too! When it comes time to create my STDI’s I’m calling HIM!!!
I am new to this site and I almost choked on my drink when I saw the abbr for save the date. I like STDI’s much better, that “I” really makes a difference!
OMG!!! I LOOOVE the quotes on the front of the invites! Can I steal them? They won’t be on the STDIs or invitations, I promise! Haha

I have many friendors! BUT, I have requested their knowledge and not their services with things like my invites and photographer. I’m a bit of a control freak, so I’d rather have a bit more control over my invites. Yours are fun!
MAN am I glad I’m not the only one who can’t bear to call these STDs. I was starting to think I was crazy!
Sadly, STI (sexually transmitted infection) is now the correct terminology for all those icky things, so STDI just looks like a redundant “sexually transmitted disease” to the nurse in me. Sorry ;o)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your save the dates!! I am a quote whore & now wish that we had done something like this. Oh well!!
