Look what the postman brought to my mailbox today!

My bachelorette party invite! I haven’t been involved with the planning and was delighted to see that it will be a 1950s-themed costume party.
I looove to dress up, so I am super excited. And even though I am up to my eyeballs in planning (two and a half weeks to go, ladies!), I am spending my time thinking about costume inspiration. ![]()
I was thrilled to see a photo of the lovely Mrs. Draper from Mad Men on the invitation.
Oh, Betty… how your hair & wardrobe make me drool.
Being the costume dork that I am, I love dressing up in “pairs”. (Miss Crab Cake, I loved your engagement party post!)
Many of the Taffetes have been my partners in costume crime over the years, and I have an idea brewing for Miss K for the upcoming bash. Here we are on Halloween as Krispy Kreme workers:

You can’t see it, but we have roller skates on.
I am going to propose that we dress up as Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell from the film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. I think it would be a blast!
I’m loving the beret action in this shot…

A double wedding? Sounds like a good costume opportunity to me…

You’ll have to excuse the poor res on this one… it is so campy, I just had to include it.

This orange dress is seriously awesome.

I am going to have to squeeze in some time to scour my closet and maybe a vintage store or two before the party.
I seriously can’t wait!!! Some of the costume suggestions on the invite are The Good Housewife, The Girl Next Door, The Scandalous Diva, and The Naughty Pin Up. What theme would you choose?
