A Change of Heart

May 14th, 2009 @ 2:52 pm by Mrs. Crab Cake

Perhaps having my hair trial done in February for my June nuptials wasn’t the smartest idea ever. Kinda like buying my dress last May. I’ve had too much time to think about it. And the more I think about it, the less I like my hair. I feel like it makes my head look enormous! And, I’m not really crazy about the way my bangs look.

I have a second chance next week. If you’ll recall, my photographer was pregnant and we had to cancel my bridal shoot due to bed rest. Well, she had her baby (and he is perfect and gorgeous) and we’ve rescheduled my bridals for next Friday.

I’ve been looking at new hairstyles. I also found some more makeup inspiration to take to the makeup artist, since I wasn’t terribly impressed with the first trial.

I’ve been strangely drawn to this style:

I have been really focused on chignons this whole time, but why didn’t I notice this style earlier on? I am not sure I have enough hair to pull this off, but I’m sure going to ask. And if I don’t, I’ll have backup inspiration waiting in the wings.

Did you have a change of heart about a major detail close to your wedding date?

Love that bottom right one. Gorgeous. My trial is in two weeks–wedding not until October–but I’m headed up to Denver area anyway to do our catering contract so I have to knock out a few more birds with this one trip. Hopefully, I don’t have a change of heart too! We might try a few different styles.

The week before my wedding I totally changed my hair style and scheduled my (3rd) hair trial to try it out. I’m SO happy I did… I was thrilled with my hair on my wedding day. It is very similar to these pictures you have posted. Low, pulled back with a piecy texture and a hair brooch.
There are pictures of it on my married bio if you’d like to get another idea.
GOod luck!

Make that 3 votes for the bottom right.
I think I’m going to save that pic for inspiration too!

So pretty! I like the one on the bottom right.

Oh yeah, last minute changes include flowers, the petal toss…you name it!

You can always get extensions to pull the look off - they even dye them to your exact hair colour. And they look very natural and pretty.

OH! I totally understand. I got my hair trial done and really wasn’t happy. I thankfully was able to get the woman who cuts and colors my hair to agree to do my hair, my moh, maids, moms and grandmothers hair!! ALL WITHIN my budget. My second trial with this team - I LOVE!!

I’m not sure how long your hair is, but I was in for my hair trial last week with quite a few of those same photos…and was actually told I had too MUCH hair (plus it’s really thick). I was able to have my hair cut to just below my shoulders and it worked out great.

I like the idea of using a “hair brooch” it’s very glamorous. My favorites are bottom left and bottom right.

I LOVE the hair in the picture on the very bottom right. I’m using a lot of that style brooches in my wedding. I might consider this for my hair!!! So elegant.

Haha, welcome to the Chignon Club! :-) I think that style would look beautiful on you, and really “work” with the whole look you want your wedding to achieve!

Thanks Ladies!
the bottom right picture is me!
I was actually surprised when I saw it.. because I can’t remember putting it on project wedding.

I love love my hair on our wedding and I was so thankful, because my hairstylist was able to do the hair that I wanted considering we didn’t have a trial!
