About Mrs. Yorkie

Uh-Oh…

May 15th, 2009 @ 12:00 pm by Mrs. Yorkie

Look at what I found on Style Me Pretty. Just when I thought that I was set with a cake design, K. Rose Cakes tempts me with this lovely creation! Ribbons and silhouettes? (I’m even loving the flower-shaped tier for the base. I’ve never liked the look of mixed tiers!) For an indecisive girl like me, this is bad… very bad. Ha! Good thing we haven’t settled on a baker yet! :)

Which do you like best?

The second one because it’s bolder. The cameo/silhouette in the first one is a bit too small, although I love the cool crest-shape of the first one.

Oh the decisions!

I love the first one. I think that if you were to give the silhouettes in the first one a cameo border like the second cake, it would be perfect1

I like the first cake best, but that’s just because I don’t really like yellow on cakes (the cake itself is usually yellow already), and I love anemones.

I’m not loving the flower shaped tier on the first one, but i love everything ELSE about it. The cameos are a better size on the first one and it is just so simply chic!

Beautiful work!

I love the first one as well! Both are fantastic, though! And you don’t have to copy the cake piece by piece. Are there elements of both that you could combine into one?

Your baker - when you have one - should be able to help you create something that captures the elements you want and maybe even a thing or two you hadn’t thought of!

I like the second cake better without the bottom tier. Or you could combine the two–maybe the style of cake 2 with the silhouettes of cake 1??

Do the first cake, but in the color of the second cake (or your wedding color!) and put the lace around the silhouette like in the second cake. Your cake is going to be so beautiful!

I feel like such a dork! I found the first one the other day and immediately saved it for a rainy day and forgot about it even after you posted that lovely yesterday. I’ve gotta say, #1 surely is my fav, especially with the shape of the bottom layer and the anemones on top!

I love them both. You should combine them. Maybe pull the lace from the silhouettes on the second one and put it around the silhouettes on the first cake? I’m sure your baker can combine both of the cakes to your perfect cake :)

I really love the first one and it’s flower shaped base. But I think the silo. are kinda too tiny and like the silo. on the second cake better. Either way, they are both good choices!

I LOVE the new cake, but I agree with many of the other posts. The sillouhettes seem to be missing something… Maybe make them a little larger and add a border? The base tier on that cake is just lovely!

I like the first one overall, but I like how the 2nd cake has some diagonal action going on, it adds movement… so I guess I like a combination of both (in a way), Hmm I hope I didn’t confuse you more, hehe

Damn you! I was so into monograms, now I just love the silhouettes! I think I LOVE the first cake with that awesome bottom tier. Plus the silhouettes aren’t overdone. I remember making silhouettes in grammar school for Mother’s Day! A month out, I can’t change my cake. Plus my baker is pain in the patootie.
