About Mrs. Joey

I love lists. I’m the kind of person who makes a handwritten to-do list every few days with sub-lists under each to-do item on my list. I’m also the kind of list nerd who will add an item to my to-do lists that I’ve already completed, just so I can immediately cross it off. I need to see on paper that I’ve got a lot done. :) I even have special notebooks just for my lists. I told you, I’m a list nerd.

Over the last week, I’ve been slowly putting together a to-do list for the wedding. We’ve only got about 75 days left until the big day, and I need a list to help me get things done.

I thought I was on top of things, but then I made this list of lists, and found that I’m on top of very little.

Here’s part of my to-do list.

Ceremony:
Order a copy of Mr. Joey’s Baptismal Certificate
Finalize ceremony participants
-Send verification for to wedding witness
Ceremony Readings
-Select readings
-Send Ceremony Coordinator selection form

Arrhae box/bag
Finalize music selections
Programs
-Make map
-Finalize design
Flowers
Seating design
Make flowers for flower girl’s basket

This is just the ceremony part of the list. If you could only see the rest. It goes on for pages! We did make a bit of progress this week. All the items in bold italics are complete

Are you a list nerd who makes a to-do list within your to-do list?

Lists are the only way I get anything done.. otherwise I only do the “fun things” and don’t get to the other stuff.. and I’m so scared that I’ll forget something that a list really calms my nerves! Plus, crossing stuff off or checking next to it is so satisfying.. so, uhm, yeah, I totally get it!

I totally add things that have already been done to feel like I accomplished something :)

I was late leaving the house for work this morning because I couldn’t let myself go until I had a list of wedding things to accomplish this week… and its an unfortunately long list!!

And I also added “compile list of things to do” to the list, so I could cross it off. =)

I’m not as much of a list nerd as you are, but I definitely love the feeling I get when I can cross things off! Writing things down also helps me not forget as many things too. We have about the same number of days til our wedding and looking at your list makes me realize how much is still left to do!

I’m most definitely a list nerd. I also like adding things I’ve done just to be able to cross them off!! I’m not quite at the point to making one all the way out to the wedding, but I have one through the beginning of the summer!

OMG I am the exact same way about lists; LOVE em, cant get ENOUGH of em! Don’t stress Miss J, just stay focused get the MOST important stuff done first and from the list above it looks like you can take care of some of those lines while at work (teehee).

Yup, I love lists — and the mister’s embraced them as well since we’re trying to wrap up so many of the little wedding-related deets! Gah! We’re almost at the 100 day mark!

I have been, and always will be, a slave to lists! I love, love, love them, and feel so good when I can cross things off. I now carry them around with me…as I am at the 34 day mark!

Yep, I am extreme with my lists. With the wedding two weeks away I have several different versions of the lists I have, so not good. I bought my bm’s small notebooks as part of their bm gifts and I decided to keep them because I needed them for my lists!! Horrible, I am just breaking out a new one to make the last list and condense all my other lists!!!

Oh Miss Joey! I chuckled aloud when I read this. I do the same thing!! I write a task that I’ve already completed just to cross it off, thus feeling more accomplished. Sometimes I even re write the list AFTER I’ve completed things because I don’t like the scratched off lines…. I’m more of a ‘check in the box’ kinda gal lol.

yup. it helps me to break down a big task into smaller, more manageable ones. plus, there’s less chance i’ll forget to do something!

I had to make a list too! If I don’t write it down I can’t sleep b/c all the things I have to do keep running around in my head.

I am a total list nerd, and it brought me so much sanity when I was planning! I found that I was just juggling so many thoughts that I just couldn’t retain any more info! So as soon as I thought of something I wrote it down on my master list-then I was off the hook for keeping it on the brain. I love lists!!!

You are a woman after my own heat. Now I think I make lists because I’m getting old. I can’t remember things like I used to.

If you’re a techie list nerd you’ll like this: http://www.doitdoitdone.com.

I don’t have a crackberry or I’d be all over this bad boy. As it is I make paper lists AND lists on my ipod touch. Lists, lists and more lists!

@LoriLori: I’m not much of a techie list nerd. There’s something so much more satisfying about crossing items off by hand. :)
