For him! I’ve been asking around for stylist recommendations so that I can trim my bangs once more before the big day. Selfish me. It never occurred to me that Mr Piglet had the same thoughts about his ‘do for our wedding. Not so much the bangs, but finding someone who can fade the sides and trim the top, while avoiding the cowlicks that have ensued as a result of so many of his past cuts.
So, what to do when in search of a good cut for my man? Turn to Yelp, of course! After a quick search, I came across Tel’s Barber Shop in Santa Monica. The reviews were stellar. They all raved about the family owned business run by Tel and his two sons. We wouldn’t have to worry about avoiding the one barber/stylist that does a sub-par job. Nope. They’re ALL good!
Pardon the crappy snapshot taken by my lovely CrackBerry. I was trying to be stealth while holding up a newspaper. For the five years we’ve been together, Mr Piglet has gone to Hair Cuttery in Towson Mall for all of his cuts. He doesn’t have a particular barber/stylist he sees, so he’s had many interpretations of his request for a ‘2 on side and a trim up top’. It’s really been hit or miss. He just doesn’t care. “It’ll grow out in two weeks,” is his most common response.
The result? I don’t have a picture. Boo. But according to Mr Piglet, this was probably the best haircut he’s ever had. Now that’s a bold statement! I’m not sure if this is normal, but Tel, Brian, and Randy (I assume they were them), took 30+ minutes for each of their cuts. They really take their time with each of their clients. There wasn’t one dude that walked out of their shop where I thought to myself, ‘dang… it’ll grow out.’

I love your stealth shot. I got my guy hooked on salons, and now he goes to one of those specialty ones for men. He gets pampered more than I do — but I like the result!
Mr. Mascara has found his hairstylist… and unfortunately, it’s me! I dread it every time.
My hubby grew out his side burns because I love how adorable it looks on him. he also got his eye brows waxed so he looked clean cut!
@Miss Mascara: OMG me too! I hate cutting Mr. Gloss’ hair….I trade haircuts for back massages and manicure $$ now
haha! i cut my FI’s hair too! but it’s more like *bzzzz bzzz bzzzzz* with a trimmer 
Mr. Latte is super loyal to his stylist…he’ll wait forever until she’s free to cut his hair. Looks like Mr. Piglet’s found his go-to!
FI is more particular about his hair than I am. Always the same stylist. Always the same cut. Always at the same intervals. I’ve offered to cut his hair on more than one occasion, but have been turn down each time…probably a good idea since I have no idea how to cut hair haha.
Oh wow, how cool that he found his barber in 1 try! My FH hasn’t gone to one in years, he gives himself trims at home - he has one of those trimmer kits with the attachements so he has a blast saying “let me line you up” to pretty much anyone! haha
Mr. Avocado cut his own hair! He did a good job though, I was very impressed (and a little nervous since I didn’t see him until 2 days before the wedding!)
my fiance insists on going to a salon and pays almost as much for a haircut as i do for myself!
But it always looks good–so I can’t complain.

@mary-alice-me: The Mr was getting pampered with a massage at this barber shop! He loved it.
@Miss Mascara, @Miss Gloss, @mrspaetz: I’m super impressed! We tried that once. Mr P had some shag over his ear. I tried to trim it, and taper it up a bit. He hasn’t asked me again since. Guess that means he didn’t like it?

@xLailax, @Mrs. Avocado: If Mr P had those skills, imagine the money we’d save! Like @joyce’s hub, he cuts his hair every 2 weeks or so. That adds up!
@LatteLove: So long as the end result is good is allll that matters.
Mr. Sushi actually trims his own hair. Fade and all. I have no idea how he does it.
