Not Just Another Bolero

May 19th, 2009 @ 1:18 pm by Mrs. Beagle

Yet again, Etsy has proven to be a fabulous site for wedding inspiration. Seller Bonzie was recently featured on the site. Here’s a sample of her lovely handmade boleros and wraps:

After seeing these, along with the amazing bolero Miss Cheese was gifted, and how awesome Miss Peep Toe looked sporting one with her dress, I must find a bolero or wrap to wear for our reception. I usually live in sweaters and cardigans anyway, so it makes sense to wear something similar on my wedding day. I think I’ll also feel a little more comfortable in my strapless dress with a wrap/bolero on than I would without one. And who knows, maybe it will actually be cold in October. :)

Will you be wearing a bolero, shrug, or wrap for your wedding?

These boleros are so stylish…how cute just for a night on the town!

I sported an ivory vintage-looking pashmina on my wedding day. It went well with the traditional, elegant feel of everything.

@Miss Bear Cub: You’re Perceptive. Yes. :)
@Miss Bruschetta: If I do try to sew one, it will have to be after the long list of oter thing I need to get done first. :)

I really like some of those. The second one was a bit over the top for me, but I really like the flowers on a couple of them! I’ll be wearing a plain bolero that goes with my dress. It’s part of what drew me to the set.

I thought about getting one, but I think I am going to stick with the plain ole dress ;)

I looove boleros. I really want one but it totally doesn’t go with my dress. The only thing I don’t like about her boleros is the way most of them are detailed in the back - a lot of them aren’t ‘full’ they just have a strap, which is a little weird to me.

I was looking at some of those boleros too! I ended up going with a faux fur wrap for my winter wedding. When else would I wear one? hehe

I brought a beautiful wrap that was my mother’s in case I got cold. But we were dancing all night and more often then not, I had to take a break to find a napkin to dab sweat! Needless to say, I didnt end up using the wrap. But those are sooo fun!! I’d be careful to choose one to enhance the dress and not to over shadow it.
