About a year ago, or more (it was definitely before Mr Frenchie proposed), BM J’s mom (we’ll call her Auntie S) generously offered to host my bridesmaids’ luncheon. Once it was decided that our wedding would be in San Diego, BM J and Auntie S started brainstorming where to host the luncheon. I knew the restaurant would be fancy, because Auntie S doesn’t mess around; just look at where BM J had her luncheon (more than 5 years ago)…
But I had no idea it would be this fantastic! Check out the first place they suggested, Georges California Modern in La Jolla.
Whether we end up inside or outside (we all prefer outside), this place is perfect for a lunch with all my ladies, FMIL Frenchie, FSIL Frenchie, and out of town guests.
I know some people do the bridesmaids’ luncheon differently. Since BM J’s was the first one I went to, I’ve always known it as an event hosted by a close family friend where you invite the BMs (of course), your future female in-laws, and any female out-of-town guests that are in town. But, I know some brides host their own luncheon and just invite their BMs. I’ve also been to one of these, and it was a lot of fun and very intimate.

mmmm looks yummy! I am doing a luncheon the day of but just for me and my bridesmaids. The moms ar eup for debate but Id prefer it to be just the BMs and myself. I am hosting it at our Country Club. Very intimate with my closest life friends 
We went to Georges on our last trip out to San Diego and we loved it! Everything was delicious!
So nice!! I love when they pour soup over a plated morsel in front of you!

My mom and her friends always host the bridesmaid’s brunch when one of their girls gets married, and lucky for me, one of them is an AMAZING cook and party-thrower!
Gorgeous! I am having a luncheon on the Friday before for me and my bridesmaids, my FMIL, mom, Grandmother-in-law, and my aunt who is throwing it for me. I can’t wait. I am hoping to be relaxed enough to enjoy it!
Is this the same as George’s on the Cove? I had a b-day lunch on the deck there once.
My hubby & I ate at this restaurant the night we decided to get married (not the night we got engaged…just when we discussed it and said, yep, this is it!) The food & service were wonderful and you simply cannot beat the view. Enjoy!
I’m planning to do ours the weekend before, but I’m running into conflicts with other weddings. Our luncheon may turn into a dinner during the week before the wedding.
Oh man! I’m actually taking one of my bridesmaids to Las Brisas on Memorial day for breakfast!! Its one of my favorite restaurants!! Its gorgeous!!

I’m actually having a ‘Bridesmaid Dinner’ two days before the wedding.
My mother and I our hosting at a house we’ve rented for our destination wedding.
Very, very excited about this little event.
I’ve never really heard of a bridesmaids luncheon. At least not that officially. The girls are getting together a couple days before the wedding to decorate and go to the spa…does that count?
mmmm George’s is my favorite. it’s a tradition with me and my girlfriends to go there for champagne after big life events - engagements, wedding dress shopping, weddings, pregnancies (well…sparkling water for the prego)… it’s a fabulous place. I highly recommend the fish tacos and the grapefruitini. and if you eat on the middle level the prices are actually very reasonable.
I love Georges! I definitely recommend the top floor.
Bridesmaids luncheons make me squeal a little! It’s like getting to have a tea party from when you were a little girl, only with cocktails and cleavage!
you’ll have to tell us how it goes. i am actually looking into having our rehearsal dinner there next April!
My fiance proposed in La Jolla and we shared our first meal together as an engaged couple at Georges. I suggest sitting outside on the deck. The view is amazing!
Ohhh is that Las Brisas in that top picture? One of my ultimate fave, fave, faves!
