Only not as..."talented". More realistically, I'm a foodie who can't bake; a dancer and dilettente; an art collector with a penchant for the whimsical and subversive. I live in the city and adore the country, but not much in between. I like smart design, great craftmanship and good value. Most of all, I love the new vintage aesthetic: classic, sweet, delicate, bespoke. If I had to do it all over again, I'd go for a culinary arts degree rather than a PhD; but wouldn't trade Mr. P for the world.

Packaging the Favors

May 21st, 2009 @ 11:09 am by Mrs. Perfume

Okay, you all already know about my obsession with Laduree packaging.

And you probably also know about my penchant for cultural nods…

So I tried to bring these two ideas together vis a vis the favor boxes (for the macarons I made–more on those later).

For the Frenchy-flair, I created the labels (at the top) in MS Publisher and pasted them onto these (obviously Asian) small (2-3/4″ x 2″ x 2-1/2″) green take-out boxes that I ordered from Nashville Wraps.

And voila!

Do your favors reflect your favorite culture? What are they?

Such a great, springy color — fortunate online find with those, Miss Perfume. They fit in just perfectly!

hey Ms P, the double happiness paper cutting you have above, it’s actually a “don’t eat sharksfin” campaign submission. look closely and you’ll see the sharks, fishermen, soup pot!

i thought it was SO COOL! unable to do that, my helpers are making pop-up ‘no sharksfin’ cards for my chinese banquet too :)

Lol, great minds think alike :D I just ordered my pink takeout boxes yesterday from PaperMart. I haven’t decided how to personalize them yet, but our guests will fill them with candy and sweets from our dessert table. Yours are so cute! I hope mine turn out as beautiful.
