I was up late last night pasting on the labels for the favors and emailing back and forth with Lindsey on the menu and program designs. Mr. P has been doing a lot of coordinating and is really on the ball with managing Esme and logistics (even while he’s in Seattle). Things are really coming together! Hopefully by Saturday we’ll be done with everything and we can relax!! My goal is to have nothing to do next week!!!
Instead of table numbers, we’re doing table “places”. They’re the cities to which Mr. P and I have traveled together. Our wedding website’s gallery (shamelessly goes to cheesetown and) documents all the major excursions of the four years of our relationship.
So I thought, ‘why not continue the theme of travel’ (sans our grinning mugs, which I’m sure our friends and families are sick of by now!)?
I worked with Lindsey Ryan (once again!) to come up with VINTAGE (yes, more vintage) images and postcards of each city. Here they are:
For Saigon, I have an antique set of Indochinese postcards that I have framed, and thought maybe we could scan a copy of one of them to use. But I found this nice image online and sent it to Lindsey to embellish…
We also did one for our hometown:
And… one for our “speshul” place, Hot Springs—our weekend getaway and now our wedding destination–will be displayed at our sweetheart table:
Are you doing something different with your table numbers? Are they actually numbers?

We are actually painting table numbers on mini canvases held up by mini art easels. My FI and I love to paint and the mini easels were so darn cute we had to include them…

We actually were going to do this idea as well, since we have travelled a lot together, but I couldn’t sell mr. yogi on it! Love the postcards.
I love them!!! i am also trying to get things done by… monday or Tuesday. We can do it!
Those are great! We are doing something similar with our favorite restaurants. I am still trying to figure out how I am going to display them.
Ooo I LOVE all these postcards! I couldn’t even tell you which one is my favorite b/c I can’t choose… they are all so beautiful
We’re naming our tables after different birds (like Candy Corn) and our table with be the “Love Birds”.
Those are great. We did ours named after our favorite beaches.

I just had a couple who used old greeting and birthday cards for their table numbers. All the cards came from milestones (ie: the bride’s 10th birthday, the groom’s college graduation, etc) and had sweet notes inside from family and friends. It was neat to see the guests look at all the messages and remember those events in the couple’s lives.
That’s awesome. We were planning on doing the same thing but instead of vintage images we were going to put pictures of both of us in those places. Now, I’m not sure. I like your idea better.

We have such a similar design aesthetic, it’s scary. We also did cities (and many of the same cities as you…) but we used historic maps of each city, rather than vintage postcards. Very cool!

Absolutely beautiful, Miss P! We thought about special table names but just kinda ran out of stream.
Oh wow, they are so beautiful! I love the ones from Paris and SF (although I’m biased about the SF one)
My fiance and I are cyclists and having a cycling themed wedding; we LOVE watching the Grand Tours (Giro d’Italia is on now!) and planning on postponning our honeymoon till July 2010 so we can go to France during the Tour de France so our idea was to name the tables after the different stops on the Tour (which is the easy part, now the hard part is making it look good!).
I am doing something very similar. We used vintage DC post cards as our save the dates and we are going to continue that them by having vintage DC postcards as our table number/markers i.e. Washington Monument, Smithsonian, Tidal Basin, etc. etc ..
