Birdcages!

May 24th, 2009 @ 2:40 pm by Mrs. Apple Cider

When I saw these pictures on the awesome Duet Wedding Blog, my heart skipped a beat with excitement. I am in love with the styling, the birdcages, the colors. It inspired me today and made me think of so many fun things I could do with them, and I had to share these with everyone.

I found a few places to find cheap birdcages. EBay is a great place to look. These are all less than $25 each on eBay.

I wrote about Areo Home a few days ago. They have some birdcages, but they are a bit pricier.

How would you incorporate birdcages into your wedding?

I agree that table setting rocks. I think we were having an outdoor wedding I wood just because it looks pretty cool.

I am using the usual birdcage card thing. I think I got mine at cost plus a while back. They are getting easier to find lately. I love those old wood bird cages though, so rustic!

We’re using birds as a running theme - which means incorporating gorg birdcages as well!!!

Our “guest book” is a wish tree, with a birdcage hanging from it. The birdcage entrance is actually cut in the shape of a heart.

Our “card box” is a big vintage birdcage I got off cragislist for $10. $10!!!!!

Our centerpieces are giant, DIY bird nests with glossy white faux-porcelain birds and our table numbers nestled in the middle.

Oh I just love birdcages!!! I think I’m going to use them as a cardholder.

birdcages are such a great idea :) i’d try to incorporate them as a card holder or wish bowl alternative.

I really love how vintage, elegant and romantic birdcages look at weddings - I haven’t been to any weddings that have incorporated this trend yet, but I have seen so many spreads on them, like yourself. There aren’t very many ways for me to use one during our wedding, except as a card holder. I’m planning on getting ours from TJ Maxx.

Definitely check craigslist! I got my card holder (birdcage) from there.

Wow, those bird cages are actually really beautiful, true pieces of work. The bird cages I get are generally stainless steel and are pretty cheap, I get them on ebay too
