About Mrs. Bee

Weddingbee Bios

May 25th, 2009 @ 7:57 pm by Mrs. Bee

Today we’re adding one of our most requested features ever: Weddingbee Bios!

You can post to your bio in any one of 40 categories - from “How You Met” to what your “Cake” looks like.  You can see an sample bio here by the incomparable Mrs. Penguin:

A few highlights:

  • You can now upload pictures directly into the wysiwyg editor, and they appear right there. :-)  Look for the picture icon in the toolbar above the editor… then the upload link at the top of that popup.
  • The max size for pictures is 590 pixels - any pics wider than that will be resized down.
  • You can post to your bio in any number of categories…  but only once in each category.  (You can post as much text or as many photos as you want in each post though.)
  • On your profile page, your posts are displayed in the order of the categories.

The coolest part is that every post to your bio is categorized, tagged (well, if you tag it), and also appears in a communal bio page - kinda like how our boards work:

This makes bios a lot more communal - you can comment on anyone’s bio posts, or browse everyones’ posts in a single category… say, How We Met:

We’re excited to (hopefully) bring a new level of interactivity and community to wedding bios.  If you’re not sure where to start, check out Mrs. Cupcake and Mrs. Tiramisu’s bios!  You can go here to see all of our bios in one place, or click here to start your own bio. :-)

ps Thanks to all of our Bees and Hostesses for helping us test and refine this feature!

Very exciting! I’m still waiting for my professional pictures to get back. As soon as they’re back, I’m posting them here.

Incredible! It’s a nice “at a glance” look at the weddings without having to troll page by page! Not that I don’t love blog trolling….=]
