About Mrs. Apple Cider

I am so excited to share that we booked a band for our rehearsal dinner!!! Mr. AC and I have talked a lot about wanting our rehearsal dinner to be a really fun event. We don’t want it to be too formal, too uptight, too serious… we want everyone to celebrate.

After booking our venue, an adorable old Apple Barn in Valle Crucis, NC, we knew that having a “down South country theme” would really fit. We decided that it would be awesome to hire a bluegrass band to play. We want people to have delicious country cooking and be able to dance! We found a bluegrass duet and they play everything from a fiddle, to a banjo, to a guitar, and they even sing!! We are spending $400 for 4 hours of music. I think the price is relatively reasonable.

Remember the inspiration board that I created for the rehearsal dinner? Here it is again. I think the bluegrass band is going to go perfectly with it!

I also got these napkins (that I wrote about before) in the mail a few weeks ago and LOVE THEM! I found them at Plum Party and got a discount. I bought 100 for $32.

Ooh, I’m getting married in Siler City, NC (30 miles west of Chapel Hill) and want a bluegrass band. Where’d you find the duet? What’s their name? Thanks!

@leaver: Hey Leaver - I worked with a woman named Kim France - her email is kimfrance@gmail.com. She coordinates with Blue Grass bands in the NC area. Tell her that Carolyn from Wedding Bee & NC send you! Hope that helps!

Yay for bluegrass! Yes, $400 is very reasonable. The band we got was asking $2000 but they are making us a deal within our budget. That is for the actual reception, though, and not the rehearsal dinner. Your rehearsal dinner sounds awesome.

Like everyone else I think you got a steal. We are going to pay something similar but for less time. Instead of bluegrass we are having an Irish trio to play the RD. We used gigmasters.com to find it.

We have a band too! Spanish guitar mostly! I am totally in love with the atmosphere it provides… I am hoping our photographer will come capture it all without going too much over our budget!
