Mrs. Bunny's Picture
Mrs. Bunny, Columbus Age and Occupation: 24, Associate Editor/Reporter Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Reporter Engagement Date: September 23, 2008 Wedding Date: July 2009 Venue: Everal Barn, Westerville About Me: Organized, but messy. I love art (all kinds). I don't have any secrets. I talk a lot and listen even more. I show love by baking. I'm timid by nature, but brave when it counts. Mr. Bunny and I work at competing weekly newspapers, which makes it a little interesting trying to describe our work joys and frustrations without giving away too much before the paper comes out. In spite of that little hurdle, we've managed to build a pretty solid relationship in the short one-and-a-half years we will have been together when we tie the knot. I can't wait!
About Mrs. Bunny

Bag It Up!

May 28th, 2009 @ 3:28 pm by Mrs. Bunny

When Mr. Bunny and I got engaged back in September, the first thing I did (after calling friends and family to announce the news) was run to the grocery store to pick up a copy of that quarterly wedding planning bible, Martha Stewart Weddings.

*cue angelic choir*

I never wanted to be that girl who had her whole wedding planned before she even got her groom. But, knowing my obsessive self, I knew it would be impossible NOT to become her if I let myself look at wedding magazines before I got engaged.

Honestly, allowing myself to indulge in Martha wedding porn was one of the biggest perks of official engagement! I bought the two latest copies and toted them around in my work purse for a few weeks.

Then, for my birthday, my roommate gave me a wedding planner she bought at Michaels. It was in a three-ring binder too big to fit in my already packed purse, so I had to find another solution.

Enter the bright orange Oprah tote:

source

Embarrassing, right? It screams, “I LOVE OPRAH!” which, no offense to you Oprah-lovers out there, I don’t. I do like her magazine. And the tote was free. You can’t beat that.

So for the last 5 months or so, this bag has been my constant companion. Hey, a girl never knows when she’s gonna have a couple minutes to plan or craft… or bury her nose in an issue of Martha Stewart Weddings…

But ah, the sigh of relief when my new tote (a gift from my brother) arrived in the mail yesterday.

source

Farewell, Oprah! Hello, adorable new Land’s End tote! It’s heavy duty, has lots of pockets, and isn’t “Caution, wedding planning in progress” orange. Perfect.

Reader ktdid23 pointed out this morning on the boards that Land’s End is holding a sale on their canvas totes! The small totes are $12, the medium are $15. She also said that you can get free shipping if you enter MAY26 as the promotion code, pin number 00007045. Thanks, ktdid23!

My tote’s current contents: Wedding planner, to-do list, PaperSource swatch book, Martha Stewart simple scallop punch, 1 package of kraft paper envelopes, our wedding cake topper (in progress), a bag of white buttons, our guest list, and my Macbook (which I’ve been using to design our invitations).

So, what’s the verdict? Am I crazy, or do you tote around your wedding-related plans and projects everywhere, too? What do you use to carry them?

Cute! I just throw a lot of random crap in my work purse, sigh. Right now this includes - like you! - a scallop punch. Also random mock-ups/test runs of how I’m addressing our invites and the tags to go on our favors :)

I actually have a bridal-stuff folder in my laptop, filled with all my inspiration for my wedding. and, of course, i carry it with me everywhere i go. :)
i also collect tons of bridal magazines, but those are too heavy to carry around. and plus, nowadays we can find all the pictures from the magazines on the internet. it’s easier for me!

anyway… what a fab tote bag!

I, too, didn’t allow myself to look at/purchase ANY wedding magazines before I got engaged for the exact same reason–although I did let myself indulge in Weddingbee, but I didn’t officially become a member until I was engaged ;)

No wedding paraphernalia holder yet. But I could use one (it’s all “neatly” piled in my room) and really like yours. What a great brother you have!

I constantly jot ideas — for the wedding, the blog, etc. — on scraps of paper and shove them in my date book. Not the most organized, but it works okay for me!

No you’re not crazy! I bring my wedding magazines, planner, to-do lists in my black longchamp tote wherever I go! Even to the golf course to watch my fiance practice for an upcoming golf tournament :)

Whoa! I don’t carry any wedding stuff with me. Maybe it is because I am 6 months out, but I don’t really think about it that much when I am not officially thinking about it (or reading WeddingBee). I don’t really jot ideas either. I am not super into the details though, more big picture. My mom is really into the details and loses sleep over our centerpieces.

I wish I was that organized! I just have folders on my laptop and 2 physical folders (one filled with mockups for projects and the other is just honeymoon stuff with visitor guides, an itinerary, and our plane tickets.) A wedding tote would be so bad for me at work! I wouldn’t focus on anything else!

Hmm, but I did bring my notepad while FI played golf. I just sat in the golf cart the whole time and planned. It was a great day! :)

“Caution, wedding planning in progress” orange….. ha ha… I think I laughed hysterically for a minute when I read that. I am pretty organized when it comes to the wedding planning stuff but I the only thing I carry with me is my handy notebook in case I need to jot down ideas. I always forget stuff if I don’t write it down.

I don’t carry my stuff around - I walk everywhere and would probably break my back if I did. But, um, that argyle tote is frickin’ adorable and I may just have to break my shopping ban to get it… what a great deal!

My purse is filled with random post-it notes about wedding ideas, invite doodles, phone numbers, price comparisons, pens, flash drive of budget, guest list and inspiration pics…with all my normal day to day stuff, it’s getting a little ridiculous. Mr. Spin’s dad saw inside my purse over the weekend and said it was like Mary Poppin’s bag–stuff just keeps coming out. ^_^

I’m not sure what I would do with all that stuff if I did carry it around–I work in the wedding industry, I get to look at pictures all day. What more could I ask for? ^_^

I have a big tote with the wedding planners my best friend and my FMIL gave me, but I don’t carry it with me during a typical day. But having everything in one place is a life saver!

Nope! Definately not crazy! I carry my wedding tote with me almost everywhere. My main item in it is a wedding planning binder I bought, that contains all my important info. Beyond that, I might have anything from sketches, to-do lists, my Paper Source swatch book, stationary, my journal…

I was the same way when I got engaged. Never had it all planned out. But as soon as he popped the question I was at the grocery store picking up all the magazines :o) and getting excited!
