About Mrs. French Bulldog

My fruit-themed shower is next weekend, so of course I’m stressing about what I will wear. I purchased this blue dress after seeing it in these posts by Miss Crab Cake.

It fits great, but because I’m short (5’2″) I need to get it taken up a couple inches. I could totally wear this and getting it hemmed by next weekend shouldn’t be a problem. However, BM F, the shower host, is planning on wearing a SUPER cute apple dress she bought a couple years ago, to go along with the fruit themedness (still a word). I’m thinking if she’s gonna match, I should too, right?

So I did some fruit-themed Google searching and only found one thing: this Apple Skirt by Made With Love by Hannah.

Clothes Good Enough to Eat : wedding dress Applesk Wouldn’t this look really cute with a cardigan or a cap sleeved shirt?

Hivem what do you think I should wear? The dress? The skirt? (I’m also open to your fruit finds!)

OMG THAT SKIRT IS PERFECT FOR YOUR SHOWER. I think you have to have it, if a bridesmaid is going to match you DEFINATELY have to match. Way to cute… you can do the apple green with a matching cardigan (oh a turquoise one would look ooober cute to match the turquoise leaves with the green skirt)

I’d wear the dress you already have — maybe you can hit TJ Maxx or somewhere to get a really pretty fruity themed pin or brooch?

I love them both! Maybe the skirt for the shower and dress for bachelorette or other pre-wedding event?

I like lreighard1’s idea. Wear the dress and then find a smaller, more simple way, like a brooch, to incorporate the theme.

Since you’ve already bought the dress, I’d wear it with cherry earring and necklace or some other fruit accessories.

Hi Miss French Bulldog! I think either outfit would look adorable for your shower! I was just doing some online shopping earlier, and I remembered seeing a few fruit-printed dresses:

I think you should go with the dress, it’s cute, you already bought it and you will wear it again. AND you mentioned you like cherries, so you could get a cute pair of cherry shoes. I just did a quick google image search and found several. These are black but you could find something in red or maybe even navy: https://www.inspiredinsanity.com.au/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=343

See if you can find the Anthropologie lemon skirt somewhere. I guess it was from a while ago though.

It looks like…

Anyhoo, I love it. I found it on sale for $10 dollars down from $90! My FI makes fun of me every time I wear it, but he thinks it’s cute. :)

You could still wear the dress and say the color is “blueberry”. Hehe Or like suggested above find a cute fruit brooch or necklace or even a fun hat. That might be easier.

I love the idea of the first dress with a cherry necklace and red shoes.. It would also look really cute with banana-yellow accessories and shoes.

I love the dress. Pair it with this adorable bracelet for your fruit theme: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=21568331. The buttons have a vintage feel like your dress, it has blueberries and cherries, and it’s only $12! Oh, and am I the only one a little grossed out by the worms on the skirt? I just keep staring at them…lol.

SWOON! That dress is too gorgeous not to wear!
And if you absolutely MUST have fruit, there’s always this: http://www.costumeandpropshop.com/detail/RB-49026.html.
Problem solved.

OMG Ladies, thank you SO much! I think I’m definitely going to go with the “blueberry” dress and find some fruit accessories :)
@ehh5000: I LOVE the second dress, I haven’t been able to find a cherry dress in any other color but black, thanks :)
@subee: That is a great bracelet. My cousins gave me one like it for Christmas, but w/o fruit that one is cuter, if that is possible!
@Trixie Jean: LOL! LOVE the sparkly fruit headdress!
@slicey19: I’m so bummed that link doesn’t work, but I’m going to Google Cherry shoes and see what I find :)

I’d wear the blue dress, and just say you’re a blueberry, and then you match! Haha, maybe I’m just cheap?

You could also add a broach or something to it for that extra pop!
