Mr. Bunny and I work at competing weekly newspapers, which makes it a little interesting trying to describe our work joys and frustrations without giving away too much before the paper comes out. In spite of that little hurdle, we've managed to build a pretty solid relationship in the short one-and-a-half years we will have been together when we tie the knot. I can't wait!
About Mrs. Bunny

Okay, not quite one hundred. But it kinda felt like it after we’d been out for a few hours.

We started out the morning with a brunch of yagels — egg bagel sandwiches.

I’d made appointments at two different stores and had plans to visit a third that didn’t require appointments for bridesmaids. We headed to that store first, but discovered it wouldn’t open until noon.

So instead we drove a couple blocks to David’s Bridal and waited for it to open at 11. Since our appointment wasn’t until 12:30, we started by looking around on our own.

My requirements were that the dresses must be blue and tea length. Here were some of the contenders:

1

This is my lil’ sister “Sunny Bunny”, my MOH, in dress #1 from David’s Bridal. This was definitely one of my top picks for the girls. I don’t know if you can tell, but the blue is a little purple-y. Sunny liked that it had pockets.

2

We were never seriously considering this dress because it just doesn’t fit the mood of the wedding. It’s too formal for a more casual outdoor ceremony. Plus, most of my girls are bustier. “Funny Bunny”, my cousin, is the exception to that rule. Doesn’t she look dead sexy, though?

3

All the girls were fans of this tafetta number. We would have purchased it in “juniper”, a greeny blue.

4

No, “Honey Bunny” (left) and Funny Bunny are not related. Their hair just happens to be the same. exact. color. That’s why we adopted Honey into our clan. ;)

At this point, the girls were ready for a rest. And ready to see me start trying on some dresses!

We only took photos of the one dress we liked at DB. Here it is! (Don’t worry, Mr. Bunny, it’s not the real one!)

Now that I look at this dress again, I am SO GLAD I didn’t choose it! The satin fabric was just not a good choice. It was heavy and made me feel HUGE! The dress I wound up picking has all the nice features of this one, and none of the bad ones.

Stick around for dress shopping, part 2!

My FSIL bought the taffeta dress in green for her rehearsal dinner dress and everyone loved it. But I like all the choices you’ve shown. Can’t wait to see what you’ve picked out!

i tried on the dress in the left corner of the last picture - i REALLY liked it but i felt like the back was just too heavy for me. i’m not a fan of large trains, having to drag my dress around, and having to do the whole “bustle” thing. did you try that one on also???

I was just checking out the first dress yesterday at DB! I didn’t even know it had pockets!! My BM dresses have pockets too and it’s great cause I can ask them to put tissues in case I would need them at the ceremony!

It’s always good to take pictures, I found, and sleep on it with wedding dresses! Good thing I’m still so in love with my dress two weeks later!! :)
