When Mr. Powder Puff and I first became engaged, we knew immediately there were certain wedding traditions that we did not want to uphold. Namely, the garter and bouquet tosses. We find them to be awkward, uncomfortable, and (in the mister’s groomsmen’s hands) prime time for some R-rated moments. No thank you!
Now, since we are foregoing the traditional bouquet and garter tosses, I am not in the market for a garter. But if you are, you must must MUST check out the gorgeous creations over at Bleu Garters. They have some totally swoon-worthy creations like these:
So lovely! And just because we’re not tossing the garter, doesn’t mean I can’t wear one, right?

No, we aren’t doing the garter or bouquet tosses. We’ll only have a couple of single people at our wedding. I may as well just hand the garter or bouquet to them. LOL
nope not doing a garter toss… or a bouquet toss, since theres only 2 single people invited to the wedding! I am wearing a garter though, to surprise the Mr. It will be camo, lol.

Thank goodness there are others who feel this way too! Whenever I was at a wedding, that’s the moment dread the most. Its just so awkward, everyone jut staring to at all the singles. Plus I always thought it was weird for the groom to go under the dress while everyone is watching too. So obviously, we’re not either going to be doing the bouquet or garter toss. Never considered just wearing a garter for the heck of it though . . . will definitely do so now!
Those are some pretty garters. I’m also not doing a garter toss, but i’m getting my garter custom made from Julianne Smith Garter Collection!

we aren’t doing a garter toss, but i am wearing one. it’s gonna be one custom for my alma mater!
I have never liked the garter toss, but if my garter was that beautiful I might have to show it off
I love the garter/bouquet toss, so we’re definitely doing it! My garter is a nod to UGA and a surprise for Mr. Lab! 
I really love that last one We’re probably going to do both too… even though I’m not too excited about the garter toss.

Wow, we’re not doing either toss either, and from all these replies it sounds like it’s almost a thing of the past. But, the garter in the first picture definitely makes me want to reconsider.

we are doing a garter toss and I have no idea where I am getting mine. It is honestly at the bottom of my DIY list.
I’m not doing a garter toss- or even wearing a garter at that. However, after seeing these, I might change my mind- they are stunning. But I wouldn’t toss it- too gorgeous!

No garter toss here either! Or bouquet toss. I knew from the beginning I didn’t want one. Honestly, there are only few singles at our wedding as we are both in our 30’s. Just didn’t feel like a tradition I would miss. Although, friends I’ve told about drop their jaw to the ground! I made sure our DJ knew it was a ‘no” even if others try to ask him about it! I agree on the not wanting anything “R” rated to even have a chance to slip in!
I did order an Ohio State garter (Mr.’s alma) for him to see later! Shh….it’s a surprise (he thinks i’m not wearing one!)

Gorgeous garters! We’re on the fence on if we’re having a traditional toss or not but after seeing these beauties…
Miss PP- you’re my soul sista! I also despise the garter tradition for the same reasons, so we nixed both the bouquet and garter. I don’t think I’ll wear one because wrapping elastic-y things around chubber thighs isn’t particularly attractive- see also “thigh highs & the evil they cause”
