Lately, we’ve been loving paper flowers and pom poms (both of which we used in Eunice’s wedding to fabulous effect!) — especially making them out of unexpected and ingenious household and vintage paper finds, like these sewing pattern flowers via Country Living’s recent “Trash to Treasure” blog post.

For him! I’ve been asking around for stylist recommendations so that I can trim my bangs once more before the big day. Selfish me. It never occurred to me that Mr Piglet had the same thoughts about his ‘do for our wedding. Not so much the bangs, but finding someone who can fade the sides and trim the top, while avoiding the cowlicks that have ensued as a result of so many of his past cuts.
So, what to do when in search of a good cut for my man? Turn to Yelp, of course! After a quick search, I came across Tel’s Barber Shop in Santa Monica. The reviews were stellar. They all raved about the family owned business run by Tel and his two sons. We wouldn’t have to worry about avoiding the one barber/stylist that does a sub-par job. Nope. They’re ALL good!

Mr. Taffy gave me my wedding gift early! I’ll be wearing this beautiful necklace and earrings on our wedding day.

I had such a hard time finding jewelry for the wedding; it was ridiculous.

As you may or may not know, I worked for Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL for four years right after I graduated from college, in the entertainment department.
A friend of mine, David, was a performer at the Beauty and the Beast show and had met a beautiful girl named Heidi, who was a dancer at the show, and had been dating her for quite some time when he decided to propose.
David worked for weeks to pull off an amazing proposal to Heidi. He was not a trained dancer, but he was able to arrange with the stage manager of the show to learn the Equity level choreography for the grand finale and surprised Heidi as she was dancing on stage. In the finale number, her dance partner danced off the stage and was replaced by David, much to Heidi’s complete surprise.
It has been ten years since they were married, and for their anniversary, David has posted, for the first time for all to see, the video taken that day.

I remember thinking over a year ago, when Mr. Ballet Flat slipped this ring on my finger, that our wedding couldn’t come soon enough! I remember gazing at a countdown that read over 400 days, then 200 days, then, oh my gosh, 99 days! A few days ago, the countdown read 9 days! Wow… where did the time go?

When I started writing for Weddingbee, I remember reading recaps and thinking, ‘My time for these will NEVER come. I’m just planning forever, it seems.’ However, I think it’s time for me to eat my words.

We’ve added an engagement pictures section to the Weddingbee Gallery, and we’d love for you to share with us your favorite e-pics! Today’s photo of the day was uploaded by darilinda. She and her handsome fiance make an absolutely beautiful couple!

Check out all of the great uploads to the Weddingbee gallery recently! And don’t forget to upload and share your own pictures from your wedding as well. Your images must be under 1MB in size, or they won’t load.

Alright, who did their reading for the first book of the Weddingbee book club? I did! And if you didn’t, that is okay because I am going to recap the best I can so that you can quickly catch up and join the discussion. I’ll try not to insert my personal opinion and experiences in here and save that for later on in the discussion. Before I get into the recap, I’ll explain what we are going to do.
This week I’ll write a 3-part series recapping various parts of the book. As usual, comment on the post, but also head to the book club discussion board. There, we can talk about things in a little more detail. You can also start your own threads and discuss areas of the book that stood out to you. After all, the best part of a book club is that each person takes away different snippets and ideas based on their own experiences and unique story.

Dear Inspiration Board,

How I heart thee. You’ve helped me conquer the big-picture decisions that go hand-in-hand with wedding planning. Do we want a modern, clean-lined reception at a minimalist hotel? How about a rustic, wood-adorned affair in the forest? Maybe a seashell and starfish-themed event by the ocean? Or, a farm-inspired wedding with barns, hay bales, and a BBQ bash?

Remember this guy?
No, he wasn’t the best man, or even a guest at our wedding. But we do have something in common. We’ve both spent a little time at the Eagle County Jail!

Oops, wrong “Doc”:
Early on in our planning, I knew that I wanted to hire a day-of-coordinator (DOC). I didn’t want a full blown wedding planner (I wanted us to have control of a majority of the “design” of our wedding), but someone to help run the show on our big day was a necessity.
This is it! I will be getting married this weekend! **Happy dance!**
With the wedding within days, there is only one thing I know I have absolutely no control over — the weather. Of course, weather.com’s 10-day forecast will be my most-viewed site all week. (Well, after Weddingbee, of course!)
I started checking it last Friday and so far, the wedding day weather prediction has changed so many times. When I first looked, there was a 30% chance of showers. The next day it said 74 degrees and sunny. I checked it last night, and showers were back in the mix. The 30% chance and few showers were still in the forecast this morning, but when I just checked it a minute ago, it said 78 degrees and cloudy.

I finally gave in and bought a new “point and shoot” camera recently. We had purchased a new SLR as a Christmas gift to ourselves, but I needed something that could fit in my purse, which our wonderful Nikon D60 would not. I also wanted something at a lower price point so when I brought it out for events such as my bridal showers (one of which is next weekend!) and my bachelorette party (which I cannot wait for, by the way) I wouldn’t have to wear it around my neck due to the fear of dropping it after one too many glasses of wine. My fiance insists on doing extensive research before buying any type of electronic device, so naturally I gave him the task of finding me a digital camera that was not too expensive (less than $300), very compact, took pictures quickly (I hate waiting for 5 different flashes to go off and by the time it’s finished everyone is blinking), and took good pictures in the dark. After a bit of surfing the web, he came up with this one:
I love lists. I’m the kind of person who makes a handwritten to-do list every few days with sub-lists under each to-do item on my list. I’m also the kind of list nerd who will add an item to my to-do lists that I’ve already completed, just so I can immediately cross it off. I need to see on paper that I’ve got a lot done.
I even have special notebooks just for my lists. I told you, I’m a list nerd.
Over the last week, I’ve been slowly putting together a to-do list for the wedding. We’ve only got about 75 days left until the big day, and I need a list to help me get things done.
I thought I was on top of things, but then I made this list of lists, and found that I’m on top of very little.
Here’s part of my to-do list.
Ceremony:
Order a copy of Mr. Joey’s Baptismal Certificate
Finalize ceremony participants
-Send verification for to wedding witness

-Select readings
-Send Ceremony Coordinator selection form

I’ve been skipping along, not at all stressed. Whenever anyone asked, the answer was, “I’m still waiting to feel overwhelmed or anxious.” Well, I finally got stressed. Yesterday, as I was going through my list and Mr. P was playing golf, I realized we hadn’t done anything with the seating chart. I always knew, and ALWAYS said that I’m probably forgetting something pretty major. So there I was. Prophecy fulfilled.
Thankfully, Mrs. Bee gave me a complimentary trial of this wonderful software called PerfectTablePlan. So I dug around in my email to find the license key for it. I gotta tell you, it was a life saver, and really, really easy to use. It sort of reminds me of Visio.

You upload (we have everything in a spreadsheet) or enter in your guests’ names by hand. You can do it in singles, couples or groups.

Hi there!
I’m so excited to bee here with you! I’m Miss Bear Cub, but you can call me Miss Cubbie. I’m no good at introductions - I prefer to jump ahead to being friends!
I’ll give you a bit of background on me, though.
I’m originally from a small town in Southern California, but I moved around a bit before I graduated high school in Dallas. I got my undergraduate degree in Astronomy and Physics from the University of Southern California (Fight On!), and I completed my masters degree in Astronomy at New Mexico State University in Southern NM.
While in grad school, I met my future husband - future Cubbie Hubbie! Mr. Bear Cub is originally from Portland, Oregon, but he went to high school in Belgium. We learned fast that we both love to travel, we love rain (really!), gardening, NPR, hiking and camping, and generally being as goofy and silly as can be!
