Mrs. Yorkie, Miami Age and Occupation: 30, Graduate Admissions CoordinatorFiance's Age and Occupation: 41, Asst. Professor Engagement Date: July 3, 2008Wedding Date: June 2009Venue: Red Fish GrillAbout Me: I’m an East Coast girl with a crafty streak who loves traveling, photography and being outdoors (barefoot, if possible). When I do have to wear shoes, I prefer Mizunos, and have worn out a few pairs running marathons. I have a thing for chai, crossword puzzles, Apples to Apples, The Office and my real-life Yorkie, Bella. My West Coast transplant, Mr. Yorkie, roots for the Buckeyes, loves baseball, and climbs mountains for fun. We’re planning a fun little seaside wedding filled with handmade details and vintage charm. I can hardly wait!
I know it sounds silly, but one of the hardest decisions I had to make regarding our invitations was how to close the pocketfold. I hemmed and hawwed between square cardstock seals and vellum bellybands for what seemed like a week! As simple of a decision as it should have been, neither of those two options seemed quite right to me. At the last minute, I decided on ribbon, which provided just the touch of texture and elegance that I was hoping for!
Here are quick and easy instructions for the double-loop closure that I used.
Mrs. Hot Cocoa, Boston/Los AngelesAge and Occupation: 31, JD/PhD StudentFiance's Age and Occupation: 32, Medical StudentEngagement Date: May 30, 2008Wedding Date: March, 2009Blogging Since: April, 2008Venue: Ritz Carlton, Marina Del ReyAbout Me:
I am a professional student by day and an amateur cupcake taster, bargain shopper, and wedding planner by night. I am obsessed with NPR, the Food Network, paper, dance shows, Anthropologie, post-structuralist theory, Weddingbee!, "The Office," and celebrity gossip. When not procrastinating from my dissertation, I spend time catering to Jellyby, our overly anxious shih tzu, and getting to know Mr. Hot Cocoa. We have only been dating for fifteen years, so it's like I'm in love with a stranger! From the East Coast, we are planning a Jewish-Chinese Extravaganza in L.A., where we both grew up.
Since about half of our guests were coming in from out of town, and traveling from locales as far-flung as Hong Kong, London, Montreal, and the Hague, we wanted to kick off our wedding weekend with a shindig to welcome our out-of-town guests and to keep their bellies full and spirits up.
And what better place for MIL and FIL Hot Cocoa to host an Asian fusion welcome dinner than the mecca of California Asian fusion cuisine, Chinois on Main?
Mrs. Bruschetta, PhiladelphiaAge and Occupation: 25, Communication ProfessionalFiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Physical Therapy Graduate StudentEngagement Date: November 30, 2007Wedding Date: August 2009Venue: St. Thomas of Villanova Church & the F.U.E.L. HouseAbout Me: I’m a self-proclaimed grammar geek who loves singing (like, really belting it) in the car. My mister and I are planning a vibrant summer soiree celebrating our passions – including food and Philly – and when we make it official, we’ll have been together for eight years! Being super competitive is in my nature, and talking excessively is in my genes. I’ve got a terrible sense of direction, but can always easily find my way into Mr. Bruschetta’s arms.
I’ll admit it: At times, I’m Little Miss Bossy. Occasionally, I’m Little Miss Stubborn. And I’m almost always Little Miss Chatterbox.
After we purchased the engagement diamond, but before the CAD disaster, I envisioned one day wearing a set — an engagement mounting and matching wedding band. Clearly, because I’m Little Miss Matched.
But after selecting the new setting, I’m not sure if a perfectly-paired duo is “me” anymore. I love (love, love) the micropave diamonds that adorn the band and gallery on my engagement ring. One pave design, though, seems like enough to me. And even though Ritani makes a variety of wedding bands that would perfectly complement my engagement ring, I’m finding myself drawn to shared-prong designs like this one:
Mrs. Swan, New York CityAge and Occupation: 31, Legislative RepresentativeFiance's Age and Occupation: 33, Finance GuyEngagement Date: August 9, 2008Wedding Date: August 2009Venue: Battery GardensAbout Me: I am an un-crafty but resourceful, Caribbean-born but New York-raised woman who's been known to analyze "Dancing with the Stars" and “So You Think You Can Dance”, buy stinky cheese, and use way too many parentheses. I keep lists for fun, am constantly daydreaming of my next international travel adventure (four continents down, three to go), debating sports (let’s Got Mets/Giants!) and dancing around my apartment to stay sane. I am excited to share our wedding planning journey as I hope to plan a streamlined, personal, and fun wedding with the greatest life partner I could ever imagine, Mr. Swan.
A big shout out to Rihanna, a fellow (beautiful) Caribbean woman, who is currently battling her own personal issues. I hope things work out…
Anyway, speaking of music, I’ve been putting this aspect of the wedding (particularly, the reception) off because it’s so dang daunting. I’m going to keep doing it some more too, because there’s so much to think about. We’ve got so many different tastes, ages and personalities of people coming to our wedding that it’s going to be a whopper of a task to make sure to include all the types of music that will appeal to as many people as possible. Right now off the top of my head I can think of the following musical styles being played during the reception alone: Read more…
Mrs. Quiche, Chicago/Montego BayAge and Occupation: 28, Interior DesignerFiance's Age and Occupation: 42, Telecom GuruEngagement Date: July 2, 2008Wedding Date: May, 2009Venue: Coyaba Resort, Montego BayAbout Me: I love Chicago and can’t imagine living anywhere else (Well, except Paris. Or anywhere in France, for that matter!). I’m a full-time worker, part-time student, soon-to-be-step-mom, indie music lovin’, architecture and design fanatic, macaroni and cheese addict, vegetarian, Francophile, Ohio State football obsessed, wedding planning girl. Mr. Quiche and I are “Partners-in-Crime” and cannot wait to celebrate our marriage surrounded by our family and closest friends. I plan on DIYing my little heart out (or as much as a suitcase to Jamaica will hold).
Long time, no see. Wow, what an incredible few weeks it has been in the Quiche world. I’ll just start of with one thing for today - WE’RE HOME!
(Umm…can I give some MAJOR love to our ridiculously fabulous photographer, Ashley Colhouer [and her equally awesome hubby, Philip!] of 13:13 Photography? Not only do we have AMAZING pictures because of them, but we also came away with some pretty sweet friends, to boot! It can’t get much better than that! XO!)

I couldn't live without Pantone markers, fountain soda (3/4 diet, ¼ regular Coke), run-on sentences, or ridiculously oversized sunglasses. I will try to DIY almost anything and am just OCD enough to make most of it work. I am truly excited about having all my family and friends together, becoming Mrs. Gloss, and having amazing photos to prove it!

I work full time for a Commercial General Contractor (aka my father) and I go to school for Interior Design at night. I love modern design, music, wine, crafting, DMailing, my family, my Westies, and of course, Mr Frenchie! Mr Frenchie and I met 3 years ago on Match.com and have been best friends ever since. I love his "old soul" and how he laughs with his whole body, among many other things. We are planning our summer wedding at the winery near his hometown, just 45 minutes south of Orange County.
If you guessed our cake topper by Etsy seller SueBeeHB, you’re right! I received an email from Sue on Tuesday letting me know she had mailed the birds, and THE NEXT DAY, they arrived at my home! Granted, I only live about 25 miles from Sue, but I was still excited. They came in a cute box that reminded me of a Twitter question Sara with Stinkerpants Designs asked a few weeks ago regarding the packing she mailed her cards with, and I stand corrected. It is more exciting when something comes in a fun package.

Our newest bee comes all the way to us from Chile! Say hello to Miss Bear Cub, who’s planning her Oregon wedding remotely from South America!
Miss Bear Cub, Chile/Portland Age and Occupation: 26, Astronomer Fiance’s Age and Occupation: 28, Astronomer Engagement Date: May 10, 2008 Wedding Date: September 2009 Venue: Westwind YWCA camp About Me: I’m a small-town girl who’s making a living in Chile, with her heart in the Pacific Northwest. I grew up in Southern California, went to high school in Texas, grad school in New Mexico, and now I can’t wait to settle down in Oregon! I love pears, hazelnuts, knitting, traveling, running, baking, and long talks on the phone with good friends. I’m planning my Oregon coast summer camp wedding while abroad with my best friend - I’m always at home when I’m with him!
Mrs. Perfume, DCAge and Occupation: 36, Consultant (and Part-Time Professor)Fiance's Age and Occupation: 41, ConsultantEngagement Date: May 13, 2008Wedding Date: May, 2009Venue: The Homestead, Hot Springs, VirginiaAbout Me: I'd like to think that I'm a modern day Little Edie Beale. Only not as..."talented". More realistically, I'm a foodie who can't bake; a dancer and dilettente; an art collector with a penchant for the whimsical and subversive. I live in the city and adore the country, but not much in between. I like smart design, great craftmanship and good value. Most of all, I love the new vintage aesthetic: classic, sweet, delicate, bespoke. If I had to do it all over again, I'd go for a culinary arts degree rather than a PhD; but wouldn't trade Mr. P for the world.
My FMIL sent out the rehearsal dinner invitations the other week. It’s more of a welcome dinner than a rehearsal dinner, as everyone coming to the wedding is invited to the party the night before.
The RSVP deadline is today. So far about 50 (out of 80) people will be coming. Read more…

I love crafting, blogging, laughing and dreaming. I know every word to the Anne of Green Gables and Little Women movies. I own every single Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine and have been dreaming of weddings since I was little. I believe life is about doing what makes you happy. If you aren't happy re-evaluate what you are doing. You should never look back on your life and not be proud of what you are doing. If you want to travel - travel. If you want to sing - sing. If you want to start a company - start a company. If you want to blog – blog!
There was so much interest in my shower dresses that I wanted to put up a few real pictures. First, the bad news. The Atmosphere dress (grey and cream) wasn’t a good fit. It just didn’t flatter me and I decided to send it back. But I got the “Teal the Show” dress, and I LOVE IT!
(It is a bit short, but I like that! I think the femininity of the dress with the shortness really works.)

I love shoes, laughing at “Platinum Weddings”, crafts, inspiration boards, candy, and basically anything I can DIY. While weddings can certainly be all-consuming, I honestly can’t wait until the ceremony is over and I can finally call Mr. Powder Puff my husband!

I’m interrupting your regularly-scheduled wedding-planning deliciousness to bring you a little piece of my personal life…
Mister Mary Jane and I chose to get married at the courthouse for a variety of reasons. One of them was money. We want to spend the money we have on things that are in line with our priorities. On Friday, we did just that:

Not that I’m worried about Mr. Yorkie developing a case of Popsicle toes or anything, but HOW CUTE ARE THESE SOCKS?! They’re custom made by Etsy seller ErinBorges, and available in black, brown or grey, and your choice of thread color. These would make a sweet surprise for any groom on the Big Day!
