Mrs. Cookie, DenverAge and Occupation: 25, Nonprofit Fundraiser/Theatre DesignerFiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Financial AnalystEngagement Date: September 2007Wedding Date: September 2008Blogging Since: May 8, 2008Venue: Ten Mile StationAbout Me: With a degree in Theatre I never realized that planning a wedding was a lot like Theatre Management, until I started planning my own. I am a coffee addict, especially Starbucks' Grande Mochas, yummy! I love to cook (especially chocolate chip cookies for my honey), travel to exotic places, and be creative. As a couple, Mr. Cookie and I are extremely practical, down to earth, and children at heart. We live in a cozy abode with our adorable Pomeranian, and love to play board games and watch movies into the evening.
A few weeks ago, I received a call from Mr. Cookie’s godmother, and she asked me to do a little favor for her. You see, she lives in Ohio, and she was flying to Colorado to throw a bridal shower for Mr. Cookie’s brother’s fiancée. Since she was flying, she didn’t want to lug favors in her suitcase, understandably. And she needed my help to create a goodie bag for the shower/tea attendees. So, I took on the task, and this is what I came up with:
Ta da! What do you think? I am so happy with how they turned out. The contents of the goodie bag included: Read more…
Mrs. Peep Toe, San FranciscoAge and Occupation: 29, Policy AnalystFiance's Age and Occupation: 36, Olive Oil Production ManagerEngagement Date: December 16, 2007Wedding Date: May, 2009Blogging Since: November 26, 2008Venue: Hotel VitaleAbout Me: I am a west coast lady who loves the San Francisco Bay Area. I love living with Mr. Peep and our animals: Huck the Dog and Ferris the Cat. I work to save the environment in San Francisco, while Mr. Peep makes ridiculously delicious Olive Oil. On any day you can find me reading the latest book I have gotten my hands on, eating Swedish Fish, and perusing wedding blogs! We are both champagne drinking foodies on a Bud Light budget. We are planning an eco-chic, intimate, and interfaith San Francisco City wedding.
I have already blogged about shoes before—here, here, and here!! I even asked the hive for advice, and totally ignored all if it. (Sorry, I’m a bad bee.)
But today is a glorious day—Miss PEEP TOE finally has shoes to wear to her wedding!!! Before, I showcase my perfect pair of peeps, I thought I’d write a little bit about my experience with online ordering.*
First, Endless.com. I love the idea of Endless—free shipping both ways = fantastic-ness!! But I ordered three pairs of shoes through them, and two of them were pretty damaged. Right out of the box, they both looked second hand. Not good. The other was just not right. All three were quickly returned—FOR FREE.

I love crafting, blogging, laughing and dreaming. I know every word to the Anne of Green Gables and Little Women movies. I own every single Martha Stewart Wedding Magazine and have been dreaming of weddings since I was little. I believe life is about doing what makes you happy. If you aren't happy re-evaluate what you are doing. You should never look back on your life and not be proud of what you are doing. If you want to travel - travel. If you want to sing - sing. If you want to start a company - start a company. If you want to blog – blog!
I had another dress fitting this weekend—we will talk about that at a later time because it was tight, and that is because I have been sitting, recovering from surgery. The design is coming together brilliantly and I am thrilled. My dress designer, Michele Nassaney, is just awesome. She recently shared some new photos of her dresses with me, and I wanted to share them. It makes me so excited to see them and know that soon my dress will be among these beauties! The ideas are so original.
This first one is probably my favorite. It is the closest style to my actual dress. The model is tiny! I’ll post about my weight loss struggles soon.
Mrs. Perfume, DCAge and Occupation: 36, Consultant (and Part-Time Professor)Fiance's Age and Occupation: 41, ConsultantEngagement Date: May 13, 2008Wedding Date: May, 2009Venue: The Homestead, Hot Springs, VirginiaAbout Me: I'd like to think that I'm a modern day Little Edie Beale. Only not as..."talented". More realistically, I'm a foodie who can't bake; a dancer and dilettente; an art collector with a penchant for the whimsical and subversive. I live in the city and adore the country, but not much in between. I like smart design, great craftmanship and good value. Most of all, I love the new vintage aesthetic: classic, sweet, delicate, bespoke. If I had to do it all over again, I'd go for a culinary arts degree rather than a PhD; but wouldn't trade Mr. P for the world.
Exactly one year ago, you truly surprised me with your thoughtful and well-planned proposal. I’m sorry we can’t be together to honor the occasion today, but we’ll be celebrating an even bigger event very soon! Miss you and stay warm in Seattle!!
Mrs. Yorkie, Miami Age and Occupation: 30, Graduate Admissions CoordinatorFiance's Age and Occupation: 41, Asst. Professor Engagement Date: July 3, 2008Wedding Date: June 2009Venue: Red Fish GrillAbout Me: I’m an East Coast girl with a crafty streak who loves traveling, photography and being outdoors (barefoot, if possible). When I do have to wear shoes, I prefer Mizunos, and have worn out a few pairs running marathons. I have a thing for chai, crossword puzzles, Apples to Apples, The Office and my real-life Yorkie, Bella. My West Coast transplant, Mr. Yorkie, roots for the Buckeyes, loves baseball, and climbs mountains for fun. We’re planning a fun little seaside wedding filled with handmade details and vintage charm. I can hardly wait!
I’m so excited about how the coloring book pages have turned out! The steps are unbelievably easy and the outcome is so much better than I anticipated. The hardest part has been narrowing down our collection of photos and figuring out which ones will make the cut.
By following the steps in Jennifer Apple’s Photoshop tutorial (which also works for PaintShop Pro), I was able to use this photo of Mr. Yorkie and me taken up in the Sierras last summer (the day before we got engaged)…
Mrs. Gloss, Boston/MaineAge and Occupation: 24, Designer/soon-to-be ArchitectFiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Systems EngineerEngagement Date: May 23, 2008Wedding Date: August 2009Venue: SS Katahdin/Lakeside TentAbout Me: I don't like nickels or the skin that forms on pudding when it's in the fridge for too long. I couldn't live without Pantone markers, fountain soda (3/4 diet, ¼ regular Coke), run-on sentences, or ridiculously oversized sunglasses. I will try to DIY almost anything and am just OCD enough to make most of it work. I am truly excited about having all my family and friends together, becoming Mrs. Gloss, and having amazing photos to prove it!
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m planning on DIYing my makeup for the big day since we are getting married hours away from a metropolitan area and have a petite budget. Lo, of Lo and Co, was kind enough to pass along some great tips for me which I talked about here. I wasn’t really feeling the eyeliner on the bottom lashes, so I tried again. I guess one benefit of doing your own makeup is that you can practice!!
Mrs. Mary Jane, Grand Forks, NDAge and Occupation: 26, Instructional DesignerFiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Lead ProgrammerEngagement Date: February 28, 2009Wedding Date: September 2009Venue: City HallAbout Me: I'm a career woman on the surface and a homemaker at heart. I love fast cars and high heels, and my favorite food is cake. Mr. Mary Jane and I are both full-time employees and students, and we just bought our first house. We love to curl up on the couch with buttery popcorn, Sour Patch Kids, and the latest Netflix arrival -- whenever we can get a break from everyday life.
Miss Bruschetta wrote recently about the path she and Mr. Bruschetta have taken to maintaining a peaceful life together in their new home. Miss Cheese (who is a fountain of relationship advice as it is) talked about feeling married a few days ago. Mr. Mary Jane and I have taken a lot of big steps - some very early in our relationship - toward becoming a seriously committed couple. These last few weeks have been a test of the foundation we’ve built.
With barely 4 months remaining before the big day, I really want to get into the fun part of wedding planning. I want to do the DIYs. I want to buy shoes. I want to spend hours upon end on Etsy looking for the perfect hairpiece. I want to help Mr. Mary Jane choose his ring. I want to be a big bubbly ball of nearly-wedded bliss.

Mrs. Swan, New York CityAge and Occupation: 31, Legislative RepresentativeFiance's Age and Occupation: 33, Finance GuyEngagement Date: August 9, 2008Wedding Date: August 2009Venue: Battery GardensAbout Me: I am an un-crafty but resourceful, Caribbean-born but New York-raised woman who's been known to analyze "Dancing with the Stars" and “So You Think You Can Dance”, buy stinky cheese, and use way too many parentheses. I keep lists for fun, am constantly daydreaming of my next international travel adventure (four continents down, three to go), debating sports (let’s Got Mets/Giants!) and dancing around my apartment to stay sane. I am excited to share our wedding planning journey as I hope to plan a streamlined, personal, and fun wedding with the greatest life partner I could ever imagine, Mr. Swan.
Not grooming for me, but for Mr. Swan. I have always been an advocate of a groom in a nice suit. Rented tuxedos with cumberbunds or vests have just never been my preference. On the other hand, in his last job, Mr. Swan had to wear a suit almost every single day. While I think my boo looks pretty sharp when going to work in a Brooks Brothers’ business suit, I’m not sure if it’s the same style we are aiming for for our daytime summer wedding. I took the liberty of collecting some pictures of snazzy looking grooms, and here they are.
Mrs. Cheese, KnoxvilleAge and Occupation: 29, Engineering ManagerFiance's Age and Occupation: 27, CAD DesignerEngagement Date: July 31, 2008Wedding Date: May, 2009Blogging Since: October 16, 2008Venue: Our home and the two acres it sits onAbout Me: I’m an emotional girl who loves sentimental things, parenthetical asides, and trying to do things herself. I can cook, sew, am a whiz at planning, terrible at delegating, and totally in love with my fiancé (who will be my second husband but first love of the rest of my life). For our home/ garden/ DIY wedding, we’ll be moonlighting as interior designers, home improvers, and gardeners with the help of our fabulous friends and neighbors. We can’t wait to be married, and are learning how fun getting married can be.
That’s how I feel all the time. With just over 10 days to go, the proverbial shit is hitting the fan. Our house is trashed, owing to trying to get things done without stopping to breathe. Paint this, clean that, run to Hell Depot for the nineteenth time.
But it’s okay. Really. It’ll all turn out okay. I’m sitting on a chair under a tree blogging working in a slight breeze and brilliant sunshine on the green, green lawn. Even the dogs are cooperating, having taken a break from wrestling to lay in the sun. I’m taking nice deep breaths and starting to believe that it’ll all be just fine.
Last night, though, was a rough one. I was bone tired. Instead of taking a 30 minute nap like a smart girl should, I dragged myself around with a coffee cup in hand, going and going and going until I realized I was on the verge of tears for no good reason. And then suddenly I was on the verge no more, tears streaming down my face and “I just wanna give uuuuuppppp” in my head. This whole wedding thing can do that to the laziest most balanced of souls.
Take my advice: suggest to your man that when you hit this Suddenly I’m Crying For No Good Reason stage, telling you that Nothing Is That Important Or Worth All of This is not the way to go. Read more…

I work full time for a Commercial General Contractor (aka my father) and I go to school for Interior Design at night. I love modern design, music, wine, crafting, DMailing, my family, my Westies, and of course, Mr Frenchie! Mr Frenchie and I met 3 years ago on Match.com and have been best friends ever since. I love his "old soul" and how he laughs with his whole body, among many other things. We are planning our summer wedding at the winery near his hometown, just 45 minutes south of Orange County.
Mr Frenchie and I love Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble and Jamie Cullem (to name a few). (We always joke about whether we could afford to hire Michael Buble if we just got married in a tiny chapel in Vegas). Through David’s website and MySpace page, we were able to give him a listen, and agreed we HAD to have him! Go ahead and pop over to his website, I’ll wait…
Our problem, however, was that we weren’t sure he’d fit in our budget.* Read more…
Mrs. Joey, SeattleAge and Occupation: 28, Project Administrator for Public Health NGOFiance's Age and Occupation: 30, High School History TeacherEngagement Date: June 24, 2008Wedding Date: August 2009Venue: Eastside Catholic Chapel and Lake Union CafeAbout Me: I'm a Seattle girl through and through except for the fact that I don't drink coffee. I love my job most of the time because I get to travel and work with brilliant people who are trying to prevent Malaria. I love DIY projects of all sorts, cooking, and watching sports. I'd wear anything at Anthropologie and could spend all day on Etsy. I love to travel but shouldn't because I always get myself into unbelievable situations!
On Monday night I met Mr. Joey at the gym. I had just finished spin class and was going to catch a ride home with him. We caught up on each others’ days, and as we pulled up to out apartment he said, “Oh, there’s a package for you.” What package? Hmm… the DRESS! It was the dress.
I grabbed the package from Liza off the counter and ran to our room. I busted though the envelopes to find a lovely dress that I was dying to try on. Of course I was sweaty and foul smelling and couldn’t possibly try the dress on right then and there. So I showered, then had dinner (I couldn’t try it on with wet hair) and then tried the dress on. ’Oh sh**,’ was my first reaction. I looked like a Klingon. The shoulders looked huge, and the dress hung on me everywhere. I took the dress off, hung it up, and went to bed at 8PM. I had a monstrous headache!
In the morning I woke up, and since I was working from home, decided to take a few minutes before getting dressed (sweats and a t-shirt) to look at dresses online. I knew I still wanted a short dress. I found one I liked on eBay and almost put in a bid ($49.99), but then decided I needed to try on my dress one more time.
What’s the verdict? You’ll just have to stay tuned.

Engagement Date: December 31, 2008Wedding Date: November 2009Venue: Whitfield Square/Savannah StationAbout Me: I'm working on my second degree from UGA (Go Dawgs!). I'm a self-proclaimed attention-w****. If it involves a camera, I'm in front of it! You'll never meet a girlier tomboy than me. I can go toe to toe with any guy on the subject of college football, and lift more than any girl in my gym, all without chipping a nail. I hope to someday be the only person you want delivering your sports news. My FI and I are the loving parents of three Labrador Retrievers (one of each color) and are planning a "Southern Romantic Charm" wedding in the beautiful, historic city of Savannah. I'm not extreme in anything except moderation... and wedding planning.
I don’t know if it’s a tradition everywhere, but in the South, when you get married, you announce it to EVERYONE. Even before internet stalking-er, social networks like Facebook emerged, the news of an impending marriage spread like wildfire where I’m from. Soon after getting engaged, my mother mentioned putting an announcement in our hometown newspaper (as if a small town couldn’t spread the news by word of mouth efficiently enough).
I decided to entertain her and emailed the newspapers to see what it takes to publish an engagement announcement. Much to my surprise, it costs money to run them. Maybe I’m the only one who didn’t know this already, but I was just always under the impression that since you were providing them with “news”, they would just put it in for free. It makes sense to make money off of them though, especially in an era when newspapers are all on the rocks. But now we’ll be out $15 for my hometown paper, and $30 for Mr. Lab’s.
What’s funny about this whole newspaper announcement-thing is that I’m no stranger to being featured in my hometown’s paper. My town is so small that the majority of the paper is designated for school news. Because I was so involved in academics, athletics, and extracurriculars, I regularly appeared in the paper. I still have all my clippings that my grandpa would bring me (he loved seeing me in the paper) and occasionally look back at them. Here’s some of my favorite blasts from the past: Read more…

My mister and I are planning a vibrant summer soiree celebrating our passions – including food and Philly – and when we make it official, we’ll have been together for eight years! Being super competitive is in my nature, and talking excessively is in my genes. I’ve got a terrible sense of direction, but can always easily find my way into Mr. Bruschetta’s arms.
We’re putting a spin on the traditional bouquet and garter toss, looking to infuse humor and whimsy into our reception, and to stimulate some playful competition among our guests. And, of course, I’m hoping for some great pictures to capture these fun moments.
